As soon as Andrea got a hold of Brandy's grandmother, Elizabeth, I told her to find out when they were hosting Brandy's funeral.

"Demi! She said they can't have one because they aren't able to afford it because of all the hospital bills," Andrea said.

I sighed sadly and then an idea popped in my head, "Tell her I've got it covered and to let me know the time and place, I'll be there."

The funeral was scheduled for 3 days later in the small town of Elmhurst, Illinois. I packed my bags and caught the earliest plane to Chicago. I arrived in Elmhurst a day before the funeral was scheduled and met Brandy's grandmother, brother, and sister. They showed me bunches of pictures of Brandy and I just wish I could have met this inspirational young girl. As I looked around their apartment I noticed that it was very tight and cluttered. I saw bills everywhere and I could see the bags and dark circles forming under Elizabeth's eyes. But she never gave up on Brandy or her siblings and I could see the love in her eyes when she was looking at Brandy's brother and sister. They invited me to stay for dinner. Elizabeth cooked this amazing lasagna and salad and then she told me that I could leave if I wanted to because she had to bathe the twins and get them to bed.

"May I stay and help you out?" I asked.

"Of course! That would be wonderful and I bet they would love that," she replied.

I got soaked while bathing them but they were some of the cutest and happiest kids I'd ever met. They smiled and laughed and played in the water for a while before their nana told them it was time for bed.

"Will you wead us a stowy Demi?" They pleaded.

Of course I said yes and we read some books together. I then decided to sing them a lullaby to lull them to sleep. When they finally fell asleep I tiptoed out of the room. I found Elizabeth asleep with her head on the table and a pen in her hand. I tapped her lightly and she woke up abruptly.

"You better get some rest," I told her calmly, "Why don't you go lay down on the couch and take a rest. You deserve it."

"Thank you, Demi. This has meant so much to us, you don't even know," she said quietly

"It's no problem, I'll see you tomorrow," I said as I walked out the door.
