Jordan woke up with the biggest headache ever.
She felt so exhausted and upon seeing beams of lights peaking through the blinds, cowered away like a vampire.Bloody 'eck, she thought, I've got a hangover .
Jordan was almost certain about staying home the whole day when she got a call from Tobin.T: Jords?
J: Hmm...?
T:Jordan?
J: Eh...yeah?
T: Um I'm sure you're aware of the fact that you and Jess have training today
J: ...
T: and you guys are already late
J: yeah...oh fuck off Tobin
Scrambling out of bed, Jordan looked up to see the clock read 9:15.
Shit. The session started about five minutes ago.Things had started terribly for the newbies and Jordan didn't want things to get worse, so she sprinted into Jessie's room yelling, "Jess! Jess! Jessica! We're late for training! We've got to go now!"
There was no time waiting for a response, as Jordan pulled on her new training gear and pulled her hair into a bun before turning around to see Jess stagger out her room.
Without hesitation and seeing her teammate in her kit, Jordan dragged her out to her car, ignoring the protests of not getting breakfast."Ladies..." Mark looked at his watch, "you're late." He looked to the rest of the team doing drills.
"Not the best start eh? Go join the team."
Both players mumbled their apologies before joining the team where they got frowns from Mal and Tobin, shocked looks from Christine and Becky and Kling and Franch trying not to laugh. The session was mainly about preparation against Chicago and setting out their initial game plan.
After concluding, Jess and Jordan were left to the teasing of their new team. Both players decided to head to a breakfast place to get much needed fuel and to Jordan's shock, saw Mal and Lindsey already there.
Luckily neither of the players appeared to notice them and Jordan managed to usher Jessie to the other side, without much suspicion.
"So," the Canadian was lively after some scrambled eggs, "how you finding Portland?"
Jordan shrugged, trying to keep her voice to the minimal when Mal was around, "Pretty good. Glad to come back here."
Jessie then crushed Jordan into a hug and whispered, "We've all missed you."After pulling away, Fleming's eyes were on Mal.
"Definitely Pugh," she hissed, "she thinks you've been avoiding her or something."
Jordan's cheeks burned with guilt, realising that her attempts to still act the same haven't worked.
"But," thankfully Jess hadn't noticed her embarrassment, "now that we're all here, everything will be back to normal."They can't ever be, Jordan's bitter mindset sparked, having watched Mal burst into laughter at a joke Horan had made.
"Can we...go home?" Jordan asked, realising she was getting more uncomfortable, each minute she was around Mal.
Jessie shrugged. "Fine." She patted her stomach, "I'm quite full anyway and after our episode this morning, need to lie down."
Jordan nodded, once again successfully getting Jessie to leave the same way they came in, although this time, her friend was beginning to notice something was up.The first couple of hours were gone relatively smoothly. Both players retreated to their own personal space without bothering the other.
Then it was time for lunch.
Jordan simply made some macaroni, wishing she had one of her mother's Mexican cuisines to keep her going.
Or even her mother herself.Jessie has now came down, with a thoughtful look on her face.
"I've been thinking," she stated as they were tucking into their pasta," about your avoidance of Mal."
Jordan did everything to not roll her eyes.
"And I have come to the conclusion," the Canadian continued, "that you..."Are a jealous friend of Mal
Don't deserve Mal
Shouldn't be anywhere near Mal
have a problem when it comes to Mal"...have a crush on Mal."
