Authors Note: Ok, alongside this book, I've been thinking about another story as well to do with being in a coma? Let me know your opinions please (lol why do I sound so desperate?)

"Jordan? What's going on?"
Alyssa didn't just sound concerned , she was angry.
She had every right to be, Jordan supposed.

"Why's Mal crying? What did you do Jordan?"
The questions kept raining down and the baby of the team wished that the goalkeeper would open the door already and give her a slap.

Eventually the footsteps outside the door indicated her roommate had left and Jordan was now faced with the second rule.

By the way, Jordan was just making these up as she went.

Act normal. It was a practise in life, one Jordan was never able to perfect.
She supposed it was harder when you're shy, insecure and was always scared.

Obedience came before anything, that was what Cristína taught her daughter.

Jordan then heard Dawn knock, telling her that they had to go down for dinner.

After the trainer left, a huge groan was let out.
Jordan pulled on a sweater and some jeans before going downstairs.

Barring a few dirty glares (it was obvious who it was from), no one else appeared to have anything against Jordan. Which was what she needed.

So she sat down, not in her usual place next to Mal and Alyssa, but on the other side, next to Kelley and Alex.
"Hey dingo!" O'Hara chuckled at the name she'd given Jordan, "How's life? We've not spoken in ages!"

Jordan gave a polite chuckle before setting her plate down. "I'm...good. Everything's the same."
Realising she was being shot daggers by Lindsey and Alyssa, Jordan kept her head down and didn't raise it up while eating.

After dinner, Sam and Rose held a movie night in their room.
Among waiting for the others to arrive, Alyssa kicked Jordan and hissed, "The fuck are you playing at? What are you doing?"

Jordan was confused. "Acting normal."
Her roommate rolled her eyes in frustration. "You were acting anything but normal at dinner. Everyone was wondering if you were Ok."
Jordan was going to ignore her when she heard, "Is this a game to you Jordan?"

That's when Jordan blurted out, "One I can't lose."

The movie started, they were watching 'Marley and me' after Rose begging for them to watch it for weeks.
During the film, Jordan felt someone shift onto her lap. "Oh hey Mal." She whispered upon seeing who it is.
She was given a look before Mal went onto her phone in a huff.

Jordan didn't know why she did this, but she felt bad. Stroking Mal's head, she softly admitted , "Look I'm sorry for being a piece of shit."
This appeared to be enough for Mal as she put her phone down, and mouthed You're not a piece of shit.

For the duration of the movie, nothing else was said.
Then as they were getting up, Mal whispered "Do you want to go on a walk?"

Jordan looked to the clock. It was nearly ten. Dawn would kill them if she caught them out this late but Jordan cared more about Mal than the rules.

Oh wait

It was only going to be a brief wander. But things already took an unexpected turn when Mal intertwined her fingers with Jordan's.
"I miss us." She sadly said.
Jordan looked to the moon. It was romantic, the one thing Jordan shouldn't be playing with.

Playing with emotions.

Now she was in a dilemma. They had come to a standstill, just outside the pond at the local park.
Stars were being illuminated by the water and Jordan wished time could freeze, that she could have this moment forever.

But what if she turned this moment into something more?
What if the rules were bent?

Like Jordan...but seriously, Jordan didn't want to lose Mal. And if they couldn't be friends...

"Mallory Diane Pugh?"
This had gotten full attention.
"Hmm? Why are you using my full name?"
Jordan giggled with awkwardness.
"What if I wanted more...as well? If we could have something between us?"
Jordan didn't know how else to explain.

So she kissed Mal.

And that's not acting normal.
