You walked to the exit, not expecting a certain strawberry blonde leaning against the tree with his back, clearly waiting for you. You walked down the hill, ignoring his presence.
Asano followed you down the hill, catching up with you with his increasing speed. You were both in silence, not sure if it was suitable to talk with each other. The chirping noises from the birds grew louder, the sounds of water splashing together at a nearby river calmed your nerves. The relaxing atmosphere made the silence between the both of you "not so awkward". You closed your eyes, smelling the faint scent of the wild flowers growing. Enjoying the peaceful nature, you didn't realise that you were about to cross the river.
With your eyes closed.
To cross the river, you had to walk through the slippery stones set on the water. The stones all had sharp edges, and the current of the river wasn't helping at all. The rapid current could easily wash you away, bringing you off the cliff and letting your fall head first down the waterfall. You stepped in the water, still with your closed eyes, until something felt wrong.
You could feel the cold water brush against your feet, since the water has soaked your shoes. You widened your eyes, only to find out that you have stepped into the river and was about to get washed away if you didn't have something to hold on to. You yelped as you tripped on the sharp stones, resulting in a deep cut on your left elbow and your knees. A hand grabbed your right arm, pulling you up from the rapid current, saving you from your troubles.
"......troublemaker." Gakushuu scolded, as he looked at your cuts from the sharp stones. "Does it hurt?"
Whatever he was saying didn't matter. All you could think of was your lunchbox, floating along the stream, since you accidentally let go of it and it had been drifting away ever since.
"....my bento." You stated, pointing at the drifting lunchbox as Gakushuu stood there in confusion.
"I took a long time to make it...and I haven't even finished it." You frowned, a growl coming from your stomach. It was clear to the both of you that you were still hungry, and your drifting bento wasn't going to come back anytime soon.
"Akabane San, I'm going to take you to the nurse's office. Your wounds will be infected if we don't hurry, and you're bleeding an awful lot." Gakushuu said, taking out a handkerchief from his jean pocket, bending down and dabbing it around your wound, clearing up the overflowing blood. "As for your bento situation , I'll share half of my bento to you. Can you walk Akabane san?"
Gakushuu's actions surprised you, as you never had thought that an asshole could be so kind to you. You looked at the strawberry blonde in front of you, his lavender eyes meeting with your (e/c) ones. You two shared a small silence, both looking at each other as thoughts raced through your mind.
"I can walk Asano-kun. Don't worry about me. And...thank you." You muttered the last part quickly, hoping he didn't catch it. Unfortunately, his sharp listening skills caught it, his lips forming into a smirk.
"Never thought an Akabane would ever thank me."
"And I never thought a dickhead like you could be a good person."
"Language, Akabane san."
You scoffed, obviously not listening to him.

Brought to you by a lonely KufaI apologise for not updating so long! School has been draining me physically and emotionally. It's finally the summer holidays and I plan on working on my stories more often!
That is, if I can even think of an idea and not forget it before I write it down.
