Laineys POV.

In the morning I sat up and saw that Jay was still sleeping. I snuck out of the bedroom quietly so I wouldn't wake him. I went into the room where my baby girl was sleeping to check on her. She was fast asleep.

I went downstairs and made breakfast for Jay and I and checked my twitter and instagram as I waited for Jay to wake up.

He came downstairs a while later holding a crying Aubrey in his arms. "Did she wake you up?" I asked Jay as he handed her to me so she could be fed.

"No. I was up a few minutes before she started crying." He said. I nodded my head and Jay went over to the table and started eating. I grabbed a pillow, sat down and put Aubrey on the pillow so her body would be supported as I fed her and myself. "So I've been thinking about something lately..." Jay said after he finished eating.

"And what would that be?" I asked him.

"I think I want to adopt Aubrey. I don't want her to grow up without a dad." He said.

"Oh my God are you serious!" I said smiling wide.

"Yeah. Do you think I should? I'm turning eighteen in a few months so by then I could adopt her."

"That would be amazing! You totally should. You know. If you want to. But it's completely your choice. But I think you would be a really good dad."

"Well. I think I will then." He said and stood up and kissed my head as he walked back upstairs to get ready for the day.

I finished feeding Aubrey and burped her then also got ready. I was going to be going to my parents house today to spend some time with them and Rowan.

I got ready then put Aubrey in the car and got in the back with her and Jay drove. Jay and I sang along to the lyrics of Rock and Roll by Led Zeppelin on the way there so the car ride would be less boring.

"Well. I'll see you probably not too long from now." I said when the car pulled in to the drive way of my house.

"Yeah. Of course." Jay said and smiled.

I grabbed Aubrey in her little carrier and went up to the car window. Jay rolled down the car window and leaned out and kissed me. "Love you." He said.

"Love you too." I said back.

"And I also love you Aubrey." He said and she giggled. Jay pulled out of the driveway and drove down the road.

I went to the front door and opened it with my free hand. I walked in and saw Rowan sitting on the floor playing with his cars. "Hi!" He said excitedly when he noticed me.

"Hey little man. Where's mom and dad?" I asked. He pointed upstairs. I kissed him on the head and went upstairs. I saw the door to my parents bedroom open so I went in. My mom was folding clothes and putting them away and my dad was working on the final finishing touches for the new album.

"Hey sweetheart." My mom said and gave me a side hug since I was holding Aubrey in her carrier.

"Hey mommy." I said and smiled.

"Hi princess." My dad said and closed his laptop.

"Hello daddy." I said and he kissed my forehead.

"How's Aubrey?" My mom asked.

"She's doing great. She is very calm which is good and she dosen't cry too much during the night so I actually get some sleep." I said looking down at her. "Speaking of sleep. Looks like someone is tired." I said looking at Aubrey who was struggling to keep her eyes open because she was so tired.

"I can to put her to bed for you." My dad said.

"Thanks daddy." I said handing her over to him. He took her out of her carrier and took her to the nursery.

"So mom. What's been going on?" I asked as she put clothes away.

"Well... Puddles is going to have kittens." She said.

"Aww! Yay! Kittens!" I said while junping up and down.

"Yeah. It's pretty exciting!" She said smiling.

I stayed with my mom for a little bit just talking then I went in my room and just hung out on my own.

I heard the doorbell ring and I stood up to go it but my mom said that she'd answer it. I went back in my room and went back to painting my toenails.

"Lainey it's for you!" My mom yelled.

"Okay! I'm coming!" I said and went downstairs. "Who is i-" I couldnt finish my sentence because I saw who was standing at the door. Conner. My brother who I thought died in a car acident years ago. "Conner." I said and ran into his arms crying.

"Lainey. I missed you so fucking much." He whispered. I always knew that he wasn't my real brother but I always felt so connected to him. I felt like he was more than a adopted brother even know he wasn't.

"I thought you were dead." I cried.

"We need to talk about this Lainey. Can I come in?" He asked. I let go of him and nodded my head.

"Who is this?" My mom asked confused.

"He's my brother." I said wiping my tears away. She looked like she was about to ask a lot of questions because I told her he was dead. "I'll let you two talk." She said and left the room.

Conner sat down on the couch next to me and pushed a lock of my hair behind my ear. "I was told you were dead. How the hell are you here?" I asked.

"I never died Lainey. Our dad- I mean not your dad you know what I mean, must've told you I was dead." He said.

"He did tell me that. He said you were in a car accident and you died." I said.

"Nope. I'll tell you the real story. It was really late at night and I wanted to leave so I could get away from the monster I called 'dad'. So I left a note saying I was gone and not coming back and I left. I did get in a car accident though but I didn't die. I went to the hospital and they called dad and he was so mad at me for leaving so he kicked me out. So I left and found my real parents and now I'm married. That's the story." He finished.

"Wait. So you just... Left?" I asked.

"Yep. Pretty much." He said.

"And you didn't even think about taking me with you? I was only six years old when I was told you were dead!" I said and stood up. "You just couldn't have taken me with you?! I was abused and beaten almost my whole childhood and you just fucking left! I can't believe you! I yelled and started walking away.

"Lainey wait." He said grabbing my arm.

"No. Just get the hell out." I said and ran to my room and locked the door.

I now hated the brother that I loved more than anything not to long ago.
