4 - The Glow

The car ride home was in a peaceful silence. No words were spoken and didn't need to be. I was so in love with this man already and words couldn't describe it.

"Where are you taking me Brian?"

"To your home Royal."

"Did you not hear me give Talia instructions earlier, my home, my life, everything I am is with you Alpha Brian Allister. I can't wait to be your wife and your Queen!

"Honestly Royal, my wolf kinda took over when you were talking to Talia."

"Really Brian!"

"My wolf is different now, when I shifted, I was still me, he was there but not the same."

"I've changed you Brian, your wolf is now a true part of you. Together you two exist, he can't control or overpower you, you must function together."

Arriving home, we were greeted by the wolf Elders and Talia, patiently waiting for our return.

"We are pleased to meet and greet our Queen Royal," they all said in sync.

"The Queen will do no work this evening. It has been a long day for her. Tomorrow afternoon please return, and we will be ready to receive you."

Without objection everyone left but Talia and the house staff.

"Goodnight Mom, Dad, see you guys in the morning," Talia said then kissed us both and headed to her room.

Brian gave me the tour of the entire mansion and I was in awe. The house was amazing, I loved my house, but this house is what every woman dreams of.

"This place is truly amazing Brian."

"I hope so Royal, everything just seemed right, some things I really didn't need but I followed my heart and designed and built a house fit for a Queen, my Queen. This is my gift to you. It took me five years to design and build this. I started it a year after Talia was born.

That was the moment I learned that I had vampire speed, I closed in on Brian so fast I made my own head spin and kissed him with every ounce of love and passion I had in me.

"This is one of those moments where I am falling in love with Brian the man, not because you are my mate, but because of the man you are and how you loved me unconditionally before you even knew me. I have never been in love, but I had this idea of what real love would feel like, and in last the two days you have shown me a love I never knew. Thank you, Brian, I am grateful and appreciative of your love. I promise to never take it or you for granted, I understand that it is a precious gift that you have freely given to me."

I saw the look in his eyes, the acceptance of my words he was opening his heart to me and I to him.

"In one week, we will marry Royal, that is the longest I am able to wait."

"I know, now I have a wedding to plan. Nothing fancy just something nice for the pack and the Elders...ALL the Elders Brian, so we must explain this to the pack."

"Let me take you to bed Royal, I need more alone time with you before I have to share you with the world."

"Well it seems Brian, that I'm already gonna have to set a she-wolf straight because there is one in my bed waiting for you!"

Before he could respond we appeared in his room as I watched this half-naked woman in my bed. Her eyes rang with fear when she first saw me, but it quickly changed to anger. She thought to challenge me and that would be a grave mistake. I searched Brian's mind and memories he had no dealings with this woman although she wanted to be his partner. Those that have lost their mates can choose to live together and she hoped that Brian would choose her, but he never did. I was promised to him and although he was beginning to lose hope, he lived his life based on that promise.
