ELARA

Aphrodite was in my presence and giving me compliments and saying that she has seemed to know of my being before I could even comprehend what my own life really was. I was awestruck how could it be that she had been watching me so long - I mean she was a goddess I was certain that she of all people had more important things to be doing that concerning herself with a mundane human such as me. It had been quiet in the drawing room for quite some time and I assumed that the deities before me where simply trying to let my mind Catch up to my mouth before pressing on.  I had a million questing racing around my mind but I could not string a sentence together... I felt odd to have been watched this passed twenty years and have not a clue as to why.

It had clearly been a while with me sitting and opening my mouth and swiftly closing it again like a guppy. I collected myself as quickly as I could and tried not to embarrass myself any further than I had already, I cleared my throat and looked directly into the golden hues of Aphrodite's eyes "why were you watching me all this time?" I spoke softly and received a smile from her in turn, Leo just took some tea and settle with a book indicating that this conversation could take a while and he was busying himself with the words of Oscar Wilde.

Aphrodite was wearing a white floor length dress that looked light in fabric but was decorated with little gold flowers, as she stood and made her way to where I was sitting the dress floated around her and made her look as graceful as a swan. Aphrodite smiled at me Kindly and and offered me her hand, it took me a moment to register that she wanted me to take it and stand up. once I was stood she looked deeply into my eyes searching for something but I dint know what, she seemed to have found what she was looking for as she smiled lightly before speaking "Elara, do take a turn about the room with me... won't you?". Aphrodite was perfect even when she spoke it sounded like angels where singing their most pleasant hymns, I gave her a small nod and he linked her arm with mine and we started our slow walk about the room. I felt as if I had jumped back in time and straight into and eighteenth century romance novel, it was a very old fashioned thing to do, taking a turn about the room that is.

Aphrodite was humming a slow tune as we walked and I must say it was a beautiful moment to have lived in and I could not believe that this was actually happening, If I had not pinched myself a good few time in the short period I had been here I would have believed it to be nothing but a dream. I was interrupted from my thoughts as her melodic voice chimed, "Dear Elara I usually do not dabble in match making, that is usually Cupid's area of expertise, but On the day you where born I just so happened to be braking a bond between a couple in the area that you lived. You see I have taken it upon myself to break up untrue matches and in turn my son, Cupid, Matches them with their true love". I nodded in understanding, I knew of Cupid and his match making abilities and once when I was a year or two younger than I am now I had Prayed that he pair me with someone - sick of being alone but he had not answered my prayer. Aphrodite continued "I had seen your parents walk into their house with their precious bundle and I was intrigued so I followed. It is not often that something in the Human realm catches my eye, but I felt a pull towards you and I just had to know who you where. I watched as your parents cared for you, and that evening as you slept I watched. You where the most angelic baby I had ever seen in the human form, I must say I was tempted to steal you away and raise you as my own but I thought of a better source of action. I decided that night that I would be the goddess to watch over your soul personally and I took extra care to shape you into the fairy-like being you are today". she had stopped talking as we continued to walk about the room.

It was a lot to take in at one time, the last week had been unexplainably crazy and then to add to it this past day or so I had been residing in the underworld. I still had no clue as to why I had been led here by the rose quartz I had found and had so many questions but I felt that I I got to curious I would get too caught up in this world, and I needed to remain level headed and not get lost too deep in thought. I looked out of a window as we passed our second turn of the room and sighed, "But Aphrodite, what does any of that have to do with why I am here?" I asked my question rather abruptly and prayed that I did not come across as rude or uncouth, but I relaxed a little as I saw a playful smile adorn her rose red lips. "I took every time and effort with you fate, Elara, It was I who placed the quartz in the stream knowing How much you loved the water I knew you would find it easily. I was the one who made you feel inclined to take the quartz to where you prayed to us deities, and I was the one to enchant the quartz to guide you in a path of lights to this place". She spoke with power dripping from her words like she was the most powerful being in existence and her words where true and final.

Confused I still did not understand why she had written my fate to have taken me here, It seemed that for someone so sure of herself I was nothing but a muddle of questions as of late. I looked into her eyes to search for answers but they where locked, just like a one way window I could not see into her soul but she sure as hell could see into mine. Aphrodite must have sensed my utter confusion and laughed softly, even that sounded like a refined classical piece of music, "I may have written your fate, and I may have guided you to this place in order for you to fulfil it but you still have some choice in the matter. I know why I have brought you here but now it falls upon your shoulder to discover and explore and decide whether the fate I have written for you is one that you want to pursue, and, one that you are willing to handle". Her words restored some peace in my mind that I still had a choice and that humans where not just a pawn for the deities to play with until they grew bored.

No more was said between us as she led me back toward the chair I had originally been sitting in. I took my seat and the quick took some tea and sipped it recollecting my thoughts on everything that had been said, Leo seemed to finish scanning the page that he was reading and shut the book before putting it back on the side table where he had found it. "Good chat?" he asked looking between Aphrodite and I. Aphrodite smiled whilst I gave a quick nod still not uttering a word as I took everything in. Aphrodite looked toward Leo and told him that I was going to be just fine and ordered him to have the help take the luggage she had brought to my room and unpack it. Leo rolled his eyes at her and pushed her shoulder lightly telling her that it was already done before hugging her. She bid us farewell and told us she would not be coming back or a while and was taking leave to Olympus, she swiftly turned on her heal and glided out of the room and left Leo and I in a comfortable silence.

Leo gave me his hand which I politely declined and stood up from where I was sitting. Leo looked at his hand that was still offered in my direction curiously, It was almost as if he was not used to rejection and it hurt him to think that a mere mortal did not fall under the influence of his charm. Leo sighed putting one hand behind his back and the other rested at his side, a wide smile placed itself upon his lips as he looked back into my eyes. "So, now you have met my wonderful sister shall we proceed to the dining hall for lunch?" he questioned.

I laughed lightly and shook my head, the pair did indeed have a resemblance they both had shockingly beautiful icy eyes and porcelain skin. I spoke out loud next to him "Your sister is beautiful... perhaps even more so than you". I laughed and paused taking a peek at his expression. Leo honestly thought that he was Gods gift and could not fathom being anything less that perfection, "careful, I know where the food is and you still do not know your way about the palace. If you tease me too much I may just forget to feed you". He spoke with mock anger and seriousness. We walked through various hallways as we spoke, "Its a good thing I'm a quick learner then, now lets hurry I'm starving!". I spoke giggling as we walked in toe with each other.

It seems that although I had only just met the man before me I could tell hat we would be great friends and make memories that I feel we would treasure forever. Although we are nowhere near to being related I could already see similarities in our personality and it seemed he would protect me like an older brother to his younger sister.
