"Does this school organise some parties or whatever?"
"Generally not, apart from Saint Valentine's Day" she answered.
"Brilliant! So the school has a party to celebrate you!"
"Well, in a way, yes, although no one knows my date of birth"
"That's sad... you have to become more friendly! Look at me, it's my first week here and I'm friends with the whole class and I met someone in fifth grade..."
"Wait what?! Y-you have a friend from 5th grade?! Seriously?! I mean, lucky for you but h-how is that possibile!"
"Yeah, he also asked me to get engaged two days ago: obviously I stood him up" Mady seemed so sure while she was talking, like it was normal to receive an engagement request two days after being in a new school.
"But don't worry, you're the only one I really like here: and anyway, I'm here if you need me with the guys, because I'm an expert!" smiling, she winked.
"Well you're seriously freaking out to think I'm funny."
"But what are you saying:you're the funniest!"
"Oh yeah, and what do you see in me?"
"You are different and particular: I like it!"
Mady was the perfect friend, she always knew it: she could cheer you up when you couldn't, and every time her smile made you happy.
"Come on! Hug me! Don't be shy!" and in a flash she found herself with Mady's arms around her neck, so she returned the hug in her own way.
She was embarrassed, but now nothing mattered, because she had found what she had long sought.
