Lucas Frazier POV:

----------------------------

"An iced, Ristretto, 10 shot, venti, with breve, 5 pump vanilla, 7 pump caramel, 4 Splenda, and poured, not shaken" a short brunette sat in front of the counter staring down at her phone. Quickly, I wrote down her order, it's been a long day with the computers down and my irritation has risen with the girl's overly excessive drink.

"Very well." I sighed, her head shot up and she put her phone in her bag and smiled.

"Actually- just a dark roast.'' I raised my eyebrows at her sudden change in attitude and gave her a questioning look. She sighed before replying.

"I'm sorry, I just got really bad news, but you're really cute, and my mood has already brightened" she leaned over the counter and bit her lip.

I let out a chuckle. "I'm sorry to hear about your bad news, but I shoot for the other team." she let out a breath, and crossed her arms with a whiny face.

"Why are the cute ones always gay??" she threw her arms up. I chuckled and gave her the coffee.

"Well you still seem really cool, here's my number, we can hang out sometime if you'd like" she grabbed a napkin and wrote it down.

"I'm Sabrina," she held out her hand for me to shake.

"Lucas" I smiled at her and she left. The day continued on with many girls flirting, and old guys definitely checking me out. I've known I was gay since I was 13 in the 7th grade and timmy chan kissed me to see if he was gay. Turned out he wasn't and I was after trying to hide my boner the rest of the day.

My mom was always very supportive of my sexually. Never made me feel like it was different when I said he was cute, instead of she. She just listened and smiled, my dad on the other hand- let's just say we don't talk anymore.

"Frazier! your shifts up. See you Monday!" Cherry yelled from the back room. She was an elder lady, short but strong. Her hair was always in loose curls, her skin is still tight on her face and her hair a soft brown color. Although she has to be at least 65 she doesn't look a day over 35.. Her, and her husband started this cafe back in the 80's, but he passed away last spring due to leukemia.

"Okay, goodnight Cher." I closed my till for the night and signed my name on the sign out sheet in the staff break room.

It was 10 before 7 so I had enough time to stop at the sub shop on my way back to my apartment. I'm actually a pretty decent cook, I just haven't been able to go to the store to pick up some essentials. I made a mental note to do so tomorrow, since I had the weekends off.

"Hey Luke, the usual?" Jeremy, a 16 year old who worked at the sub shop for as long as I can remember, I'm pretty sure he works with his sister. She's pretty nice, married but recently went on maternity leave, so I haven't seen her around much.

I sucked my lip between my teeth making a whistling sound, "actually- I think i'll try the meatball sub tonight" He smiled and nodded before ringing me up and going to the back. As I sat waiting for him, a notification popped up on my phone from an unknown number.

Unknown:

Hey! It's Sabrina from this morning, a few of my friends and I got invited to a party, i figured id invite you, if you're free?

"Here you go 1 meatball sub. And a cherry coke" I grabbed the bag and gave a nod before saying goodnight and leaving the shop.

Me:

Sure sounds like fun, where is it?

I must not have been paying attention to where I was going, as I hit a hard chest and almost fell before someone grabbed my wrists and pulled me securely to my feet. "Watch where you're going numskull." I looked up, a most definitely attractive man sat in front of me, one hand around my wrist and the other tightly gripped on my forearm, tight enough to keep me from falling.

He had black hair, maybe dark brown, hard to tell with the night sky, he wore a black wife beater with black sweats, and running shoes, I noticed a pair of air pods in his ears one now clutches in his hand between my arm and his fingers, sweat on his forehead.

He must have been on a jog, at this hour? nonetheless, his attractive looks didn't make me unhear what he just called me, anger quickly filled me, and my uncontrollable snarkiness surfaced.

"Look here man- I don't know what your problem is, but it must be really hard to pronounce." I scoffed and  jerked my hand from his and brushed off anything that may be sticking to me. His eyes immediately filled with more hatred.

"Very funny, I just don't like running into morons who have their eyes glued to their phone" I smirked at my chance to use another snarky comment.

"I'm trying really hard to see things from your point of view." I laced my voice with sincerity, he seemed to like my answer, obviously waiting for an apology. "But I just- can't seem to get my head that far up my ass." I sighed and patted his shoulder before walking away. "Oh and thanks for saving my sandwich!" I called without looking back.

I chuckled at my cockiness and looked down to read the message.

Sabrina:

Awesome! It's on the north side, i'll pick you up, just send your address.

I sighed now regretting my answer to her invite, now I have to deal with stuck up northsiders?? Ugh fml.
