Gears of life

Chapter 1

"The sun rises again over the world, as the city comes to life and everyone starts to rise. The city with all its mechanical gears and factories which stretched to the skies, the world and suddenly became a lot more complicated almost in a century now the sun rose over era city in which all things are built. That's right everything from materials needed for building to weapons to keep the peace. After the century of endless war the world was a darker place then the city of era arose in the untouched lands, no one knows for sure who they were before the city many have said they were inventories and mechanical minds who wanted to escape the ancient wars and settled in a place which no one was interested in. Who knows for sure but now thanks to those settlers the city rose to become the greatest power of the world and the richest. Of course there are still wars that may rage between one faction or another but the city supplies them all. Yes there's no city like era city all the workers and people who live there dress in attires of soldiers jackets and steampunk style mixed together. People come because of the promise of work and a chance to be apart of the city but they stay because of the expanse. Back when the city was founded it was a republic which soon became corrupted and so one day the commander of the city's militia led a coup which overthrow them and installed a new government under the command of the newly crowned mechanical king. These days the city's political system has got even worse under many mechanical kings. The city has been turned to a radical solution by the king and his council of 15 mech lords of the city, other than just helping the king rule and obeying his orders the mech lords run everything in the city's industry and help to build the king's army and war machine all at the kings command. The kings will however is now backed by the GCE (government command enforcement) but we call them enforcers under the command of the enforcer supreme. Yes the enforcers don't half earn their name they have been known to pick up people off the streets simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. They don't kill them, no they force them to become an enforcer. They say it's a way of proving loyalty to the city and giving their support to the expanse. The expanse is the radical solution to the big problem of the world. They believe that the city needs to expand form beyond its own lands to the entire world to bring about the true new era. Of course that's never going to happen. Many kings have tried it before, the last war was the worst but there's a problem everyone still depends on era city to give them everything they need. But maybe it's time I should introduce myself my names milo and I'm a vampire living within the city. Of course I'm not the only vampire there are many overs but well let's just say we are not the most welcome members of the city. For years the enforcers have been trying to catch us and bring us over to their side but no vampire really wants to be on any side but our own..... well I mean that's kind of what some believe.... ok mainly just the ones who live in the city but truly it's not our fault.. well it is our fault but let me explain. The vampire race has been a part of this world since the beginning and ever since the century of war came to an end we have been content with our own lands. Like all begins from humans to the Fairy's and those savage Lycians and all other beings of the world. But we started to see that a new era needed to start so during the last mechanical empire expanse war I was one of the vampires that sided with the mechanical king. But believe me, me and the other vampire all fought for what we believed was right for the world. And not like we were the only ones there were lycians Fairy's and even those weirdo goblins who fought for him as well. But well we lost the war and did the vampire senate understand no... well to a point they did they blamed us not for our actions as the vampire took no part in the fighting as they did not see the need for war but those vampires who fought were punished, they exiled us to the lands of era city for a period of 5 years to repent for our crimes. A light punishment I know but as I said they did not blame us for why we were fighting. But as soon as we arrived at the city that's where things got worse the city was sealed off all magical beings within the city were forbidden from leaving. Not sure why he did that I guess was his way of trying to rebuild his magical being army. It's been 7 Years now. I have been in the city for two years more than needed to be. And every day we are hunted by the enforcers to join the army again they are getting close but the city is massive and we know how to get around...."
