As Mr Steve walked up towards the podium, we could recite the following words he was about to enunciate before his announcement by heart.
Mr Steve would begin to address the dining hall by beginning his speech with the phrase: 'Attention students!' Then, the room would be silent and his favourite word, which everyone refuses to say now because of Mr Steve's obsession with it. And in response, we would all groan in unison and Mr Steve would continue without a care in the world about our hatred towards that three syllable word. After Mr Steve chirped the-word-that-shall-not-be-spoken, he finally started his speech on Blackthorne history, 'Blackthorne Institute for Boys has a rich history,' blah blah blah.
After his speech that lasts 4 minutes 32 seconds, I snap myself back to listen to what he has to say.
"The Blackthorne Institute for Boys is proud to be the host of our sister academy, the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women for an exchange for this semester!" he exclaimed.
The room buzzed with conversations about the girls and rumours were already forming while Mr Steve was trying again to grab the attention of the students to give the details of the exchange.
"Well, challenge accepted," Grant rubs his hands in anticipation.
"I guess this means you are getting revenge then," Jonas remarks.
"Oh hell yeah. This is going to be fun." I respond with my signature smirk forming on my face and a good feeling settling in my stomach.

The next day, after running our drills to fulfil our cover of prisoners in a juvenile detention centre, we strolled into the dining hall where the stage was lined with plush curtains and the podium with the microphone moved to the side of the stage.
We were all confused. What is this? If I heard correctly, the Gallagher girls were not arriving until tomorrow afternoon, so what was this?
A woman entered the room with Mr Solomon discussing something but this means that Mr Steve was mistaken, because clearly, the girls are here. Today. I look towards Jonas and Grant beside me.
"We haven't planned our rematch yet," Grant hissed.
"Okay chill, we have time," I reply.
"Yeah, they are here for an entire semester," Jonas concurred, "that's plenty of time."
Grant released a heavy sigh. "We need to get them back."
"Oh we will, don't worry," I reassured him. "We got this."
They both nodded as we found our seats along with the rest of our cohort and waited for an explanation.
Mr Solomon and the woman, whoever she was, caught Mr Steve on his way in and a hushed conversation was spoken between them. After a while, Mr Steve waved them both ahead and we watched as Mr Solomon and the woman stood on the stage and for the first time, made an announcement without Mr Steve and his stupid speech before the actual declaration.
"Hello," the woman began politely, "I am aware that you would like to eat as soon as possible but before that we have a short statement to make."
Cutting to the chase, Mr Solomon made the actual announcement, "The Gallagher Academy has arrived early due to a slight communication mix-up and they would like to introduce themselves."
"Oh okay then," Jonas blurted, turning pink although the comment was only audible by our table.
"I am Ms Morgan, the headmaster of Gallagher Academy," the woman introduced.
"And these are the girls," Mr Solomon ended, as they both stepped aside as the curtains opened.
