So, I contacted her. Yes, I know, I swore I wouldn't, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Even so desperate that I called my mother.
I had a time and location to meet her, the 29th of next month, 1am at the Gallagher Academy barn.
My mother, let's say, is a character. Don't fight her, don't question her, don't even consider changing her mind. So when she said, Gallagher Academy barn, I had to find a way to the Gallagher Academy.
Unsurprisingly, I consulted my left and right hand men – Jonas and Grant.
Without mentioning my mother, I naturally inserted a bouncing point for an idea.
"We need to get revenge, we never ending up getting it," I start.
"Yeah, we really do," Jonas sulks, still upset from his upsetting loss against Liz.
"Hey, do you know what?" Grant says.
Bingo!
"What?" I say, acting oblivious.
Grant grins and Jonas echoes my comment.
"They've seen our school, haven't they?"
Hell yeah. As I knew Grant would, he was about to recommend for us to go to their school.
Jonas, finishing his sentence, "It's time for us to see theirs."
"Oh yeah," I respond.
I mentally pat myself on the back. Not only do we get a chance at revenge, I get to have some answers. Two birds, one stone.
I was not at all shocked when Grant and Jonas both made me convince Mr Steve. Well a) I am the most convincing and b) I am the best at coming up with a cover story on the spot, so yeah (not boasting or anything, just stating facts). Rolling my eyes, we all started to Mr Steve's office.
***
"Come in," Mr Steve voice rings out.
I enter the room while Jonas and Grant wait outside.
I automatically start smoothly begin telling a completely believable story, because the best lies have a fraction of the truth, so I talked about how Grant, Jonas and I were discussing what a 'wonderful opportunity it was to have the Gallagher girls to visit us,' basically repeating his words from when he first introduced them. Then, I dropped the possible idea of us visiting their school. And I knew he would agree, I mean, he was putty in my hands.
Finishing off my speech, I conclude with, "Yes, Dr Steve, that's what I am proposing," ensuring that he would definitely agree to us going to the Gallagher Academy by adding the nice Doctor touch to his name.
"Excellent! Wow, a truly excellent idea Mr Goode," I groan internally, but I hide my annoyance with the possibly most overused word ever by a human being. Instead, I use a smile to hide the slight frustration, but really, I am so ready to see their school and get some answers.
Mr Steve, beaming back at me continues, "That sounds excellent, and I think we can organise this with the Gallagher Academy."
Oh yeah.
"Well, thank you Dr. Steve. I really appreciate you considering my request and organising this." I reply, continuing to layer it on thick as I open the door to leave.
Jonas and Grant don't say a word until we are out of earshot.
"Well?" Grant says impatiently, "did he buy it?"
"Of course he bought it," Jonas remarks, before pausing, "wait he did right?"
Well, these guys have no faith in me whatsoever.
"Oh yeah, I was so disappointed because no one ever agrees with me," I quip, chuckling when we almost reach our dorm.
"Oh, and you said 'thank you'? I've never heard you say that." Grant laughs hysterically turning away from me to do so.
"Don't expect me to anytime soon." I retort walking into our dorm, "Oh and Grant," he turns around to look back at me. "If laughter is the best medicine, your face must be curing the world." Now it's Jonas who's bursting into laughter.
"Okay," Jonas says, recovering from his laughing seizure, "tell us what actually happened."
"So I, being as smooth as I am, used my expert persuasion skills, to convince him on how it would be a tremendous opportunity if we were able to visit the Gallagher Academy as they visited us."
I sigh in disappointment, "You both need to get better at doing this. Anyways, I also said how much we enjoyed this experience and we were hoping we could see them in the 'home environment,'" I say, putting quotation marks around 'home environment,' "and feel that we could be greatly challenged and learn more if we were able to continue this exchange."
"Wow. Zach said that he would be challenged and learn more by girls?" Jonas starts to wipe fake tears off his face, "I never thought I would live to see this day." I shove him. It was clear that we were all excited for this exchange to go on for longer. Mostly to get revenge, and for me, to get some answers. But of course, all of us were just looking forward to more secrets from the Gallagher girls.
Parting ways, Jonas went to the lab and Grant went to the P&E building. I went to the secret passage again, holding a piece of evapopaper in my hand.
I sit down against the cold walls of the passageway and write down my mental to do list. Maybe I might actually do it instead of chickening out.
- Get Blackthorne to Gallagher. Check.
- Get revenge. To do.
- Get information. To do.
- Kiss Cammie. Well, I'm trying.
~Final Note~
That was my final chapter for this book, so that's why it's longer than the others. If you would like another book to find out what happens next, let me know! I'm sorry that this book didn't have more plot, I wanted to introduce the ideas seen in this book so I can flesh them out more in the next book. (If you don't want the next book, I will probably write another anyway because I'm just so excited and I have some amazing ideas!)
Also, if there are any other series that you would like me to write a fanfic to, or if there is anything particular that you would like to see in the next book, let me know! I would love to hear from all of you!
