Alex had just been through something he never thought would happen, but at the same time he hates himself for not seeing it. As the ambulance takes his wife and stepson to the local hospital he goes into the house and meets with the lead detective.
"You need to question her son! I know he's the one that did this!" Alex demanded as he walked into the dining room meeting a female detective holding a white envelope in her hand.
"Well Sheriff, we found this on your wife's night stand. It appears to us that your wife was planning on leaving you and it seems that all the vents in the house are closed. Except. The one in her room. We're now investigating this as a possible murder-suicide."

Alex couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Give me the note!" he says as he snatches it from the woman. When the ring falls into his hand he feels his heart pound in his chest, almost as if he was having a heart attack. After reading the letter he clenches his jaw and tells the woman he's keeping the ring. He gives her back the letter and turns away walking to his SUV. On the way there Alex felt his eyes filling with tears. There has to be some mistake it wasn't over just because of one little fight. He isn't losing the love of his life after almost losing her for good. Alex pulled into the hospital, parking as fast as he possibly could.
"What is going on? Where is my son? What am i doing here?" Alex could hear Norma from the hall screaming at the nurses.
When he walked in, the room went silent. He was met with those beautiful blue eyes that looked so tired.
"If you could excuse us." Alex looked at the nurses giving them a stern look.
"What are you doing here Alex?" Norma's voice cracks, breaking Alex's heart a little.
"Norma. You're my wife. I just found you in the house, in a room filled with gas! You know Norman did this," Norma's look could've killed him in that moment, " Don't give me that look! He did this."
"No Norman would never!"
"What is this?" He shows her the ring "What is this Norma? Why did you write that note?"
"I-" She was cut off by Alex's sudden anger
"If you would have just listened to me. Norman is obsessed with you and he wanted to kill you! He Tried to kill you. The sooner you realize that Norma, you can get him the help he needs and you can be happy."
"Norman didn't do this Alex..." a tear falls from her eyes "Please leave.."
He straightens up, looking Norma in the eyes "If that's your choice then you made it." he sits the ring down on her bedside table then turns and leaves.
Norma woke to the sound of someone knocking on the door. When she opened her eyes she saw a woman standing in the doorway
"Norma Romero?" the woman asked.
"Yes." she sighed heavily.
"We just spoke to your son." Norma sat up quickly, instantly regretting it because nausea waved over her causing her to throw up over the side of the bed, "He confessed to us that he was trying to kill himself and you. He turned on the heater that let out gas through the house but only spewed into your room because he shut all the vents except the one under your bed." Norma looked stunned. There were so many questions but inside she felt sad because everyone had been right. Dylan. Caleb... Alex. Was she a bad mother? Why didn't she see it sooner? All of this was just too much for Norma to handle so the detective left to give her time to process everything. Once the door was shut Norma's nausea returned and she felt the poison leaving her body, the poison her son tried to kill her with. After about an hour of her crying she fell asleep.
The next morning after a good breakfast and a stroll around the garden outside she got a phone call from Dylan. Despite all of the tension between them after their latest argument the call was a good one. He actually called her mom and said 'i love you' when he ended the phone call. She misses him. She thought about what Dylan would have done to Norman if she had died. Or what Alex would've done. That night she went to be with a smile on her face knowing her son loved her and that she was going home tomorrow. When she woke the next morning she saw a familiar face. This made her jump up from her lying position.
"What are you doing here Alex?"
"I'm the only one on your emergency contact list. I'm just here to take you home."
In the car on the way to her house the ride was silent. There was an intense amount of tension between them. Norma started to feel sick as they pulled up to the motel.
"Alex.." she whispered looking down at her lap. He looks over at her. "I love you but i think this... this wont work. I have to focus on Norman now more than ever." she handed him the ring and got out of the car walking into the motel office.
Two Months Later
Norma was told that if any of her symptoms came back to go straight to her personal doctor. So the first thing she did when she woke up that morning was call in for an appointment. She got ready and made her way to the doctor office. While she is waiting in the waiting area she sees a certain red head and feels her stomach turn then everything goes black. When she woke up she was in a room with a nurse taking blood.
"What happened?" Norma sighs.
"That's what we're going to figure out. You passed out in the lobby."
The next time she saw someone coming in the room it was the doctor with a clipboard.
"Well congrats Mrs. Romero-"
"Please just call me Norma."
"Well Norma, congratulations you're six weeks pregnant."
When she got home she closed the door and slid against it looking at the sonogram they had just performed.
'I'm pregnant. With Alex's child. I can't get rid of it... '
Norma felt so overwhelmed she went to the bathroom and took a warm bubble bath. She stayed there thinking about what she was going to do and how or if she was going to tell Alex. Norma had never been in this situation. She couldn't go back with Alex for the baby's sake, that's no way to raise a child. When she got dressed she walked over to her mirror rubbing over the faint bump that before she hadn't noticed. She felt so happy at that moment. She was going to be a mom again.
