This whole week really stretched itself out. Ashton attended school everyday, as for Niall? Not so much. I'd see his hair from down the hall from time to time or he'd sit far from me. At least this whole thing we had is over.
The sneaky hand gestures are over, sneaky kisses. Ditch class to spend more time together. They were nothing to him but these were high school memories I will hold onto forever. He was never supposed to be apart of my senior year nor my life.
The first time Niall and I made eye contact was the second day of back to school from the weekend, Tuesday. When he walked into class that we first have together, my breath was stuck in my throat. He'd usually walk in with a small smirk and keep his eyes on me but this time, I was the first one to look away. He seemed pretty drained or tired.
Probably busy making other bets with other people. Only worries about his own damn self and his reputation.
The rest of the week was surprisingly just drama free other than Matt coming up to me to apologize about what happened at the party. I don't remember seeing him there but I guess it went around. I'm not surprised though, I was just another girl under Niall's arm, wrapped around my shoulders.
I didn't really acknowledge Matt as much no matter how many times he have attempted to speak to me, but I know he was trying something. He got comfortable getting close to me when I accepted and thanked him for his sympathetic apology. It made me think he was making Niall jealous but that's just heartbroken me talking. He's not jealous, he lost a a bet. This is nothing to him, he's probably use to making a girl feel like she's everything he could ever wanted only to throw her to the side.
Why am I all of a sudden talking so down on myself? Was I really so stupid to think that Niall would date me? Is this what a break up feels like when you actually felt something with a guy?
I decided to pick up more shifts at the diner on the weekends, helping them train some more servers. I really do need to get this whole thing off of my mind.
I walked into the diner, dreading for this Friday night shift. Sometimes it can get busy, sometimes it's not.
"Hey, girl!" I heard, meeting face to face with a girl name Alexia.
She started working here not so long ago and her and I hit it off real quick. She was just 2 years older than me, going to college around the area.
"Hey." I smiled as I threw my bag into the locker.
She fixed her collar before speaking. "So, I heard the high school won the game last weekend! Congrats on that big win!"
I let out a smile, probably the most fakest one I have done all day. Possibly all week. "I know! It was a nice game."
"It probably was. So, we're waiting on someone else to come in so do you want them to take the counter and we'll get the booths?" She asks as she holds the floor plan of the restaurant.
"How new is she?" I asked, wrapping my long hair up in a bun. I brushed my fingers through the front to get some of my small strands out.
"Uhh, I heard she messed up the orders and charged too much stuff on a one dine in table... party of one!"
I let out a laugh, shaking my head. "Oh shut up! Don't make fun of her, I can't even talk! I messed up a few times before and this is my only first waitress job."
Alexia shrugged, agreeing with my statement. "I mean this is my third, so that's understandable. I threw a tray across the room because a customer pissed me off."
I rolled my eyes at her funny humor, walking back out to the front of the restaurant as she follows. "How busy are we gonna get tonight?"
She stood there, pressing her lips together as she starts to think. "It probably won't be dead but we'll make a bit of money. Plus, aren't you scheduled for Lunch tomorrow? I haven't seen you on that schedule a lot until now."
