Typical day in campus, students in their classes. Their eyes are focused on the books and ears attentively listening to their professors. Exams are approaching fast making all the students quit their night outs to prepare.
The weather today wasn't bright, gray sky covered with nimbus clouds, wind blows in a not so friendly way. After the last lecture before the break, students are advised to go back to their homes. Classes are cancelled for the next half of the day and maybe tomorrow as well because of heavy storm approaching. Students started to rush out of the campus not wanting to be soaked by the approaching rain shower.
Yeji was left inside her classroom and of course, with Lia. She just sent a message to Mr. Kim letting him know that it's time for him to fetch her because of the class suspension. As she finished sending the message, she called for Lia who's looking outside the window. She loves to look outside the window don't she?
Lia turn her head to Yeji then they went to the lockers room because Yeji has to get some of her things. The corridors are quiet but some students are still there with them, some just came out from the library while some are waiting for their drive home like Yeji.
They entered the quiet locker room, she went to unlock her locker then she got some of her books and notebooks. Before she could even close it, a paper caught her attention. She never used those kind of papers. She got the folded paper then open it to read.
Royal blood runs in the veins
of the unseen figure,
The shadow that follows it
is now trailing behind a once
princess of the ice kingdom.See you soon, Hwang.
Written on the paper, Yeji didn't understand anything but the last line sent chills all over her body. Without her knowing, Lia saw what's written on the paper. Yeji is frozen on her spot making Lia worried.
She distance herself then act like she don't know anything then she called Yeji.
"Yeji-ah, is there a problem?" Yeji snap out and looked at Lia who's looking at her worriedly. She thought about the paper, she kept it on her pocket and put out a smile on her face.
"Oh, nothing, just thinking if I forgot something. Let's go, Mr. Kim must've been waiting." Yeji said then closed her locker. Then they made their way out, the students decreased but there are still students left studying inside their classroom.
Yeji was just walking completely forgetting about the paper but on the other hand, Lia can't stop thinking about it. She doesn't understand anything as well but it feels like she have an idea about it but couldn't let it out. The fact that Yeji received such message, she doesn't know if it meant good or bad so she doesn't know if she should let herself be bothered about it.
She looked at Yeji who's walking without any expression in her face didn't help at all. She don't know if Yeji was thinking about the paper she received.
"Yeji..." she called out then Yeji turn her gaze to Lia since no one is around, Lia just shook her head and smiled. Yeji smiled back then continued walking. She wasn't thinking about anything I guess, she turned around on my first call. Maybe I should stop thinking, maybe she figured it out already and it meant nothing.
But the fact is Yeji didn't solved the puzzle. She don't know what it says but she chose to let it pass thinking it's just nothing.
They arrived at the entrance but Mr. Kim isn't there yet. They waited at the sidewalk, people walking around can be counted. The wind's whistle is getting louder as it slowly turning aggressive. So it is really a heavy storm, huh. Yeji thought as she's starting to feel cold because of the wind.
