Seokjin's POV

"Hi babe. I'm sorry it took me so long but I know you understand me and you don't hate me for taking my time. I love you so much. I miss you so much."

My voice broke when the tears fell. I gazed at the tombstone that read:

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Here lies Kim Taehyung

Loving father, partner, son & the greatest friend

"Time is the only constant in an inconsistent world"
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I touched the words lovingly.

"My dear, sweet Voo. I'm in such a conundrum right now. I wish I had you to talk to. I know you'd laugh at my silliness. You knew me best. I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm doing the same thing that I did with you. I gave you the cold shoulder and now I'm doing it to Jungkook.

Jungkook.......oh my Twinkie. I know I don't deserve him, just as I didn't deserve you. But I'm complicating his life right now. He's getting married in 3 days and I'm busy ruining everything because I can't make up my mind. I'm so scared VV. What if I hurt him? What if I ruin his life by succumbing to him? Help me please my Taehyungah."

I held my head in my hands and sobbed. I cried for my VV, my Twinkie and my Aaria. But mostly, I cried for myself. I've let fear consume me too many times. And now that happiness is staring me right in my face, I can't seem to recognise it again.

A soft breeze began to blow and I felt a presence behind me. I turned to see an old man next to the grave beside me. He was arranging the flowers he had brought in a pot next to the tombstone. He smiled at me kindly and I noticed the name and date on the stone. Must have been his wife, I thought. Probably lived a long and happy life together. I suddenly found I envied them.

He came over and started a conversation with me. He seemed like a kind old man. What surprised me was the story he told me about the woman that was buried next to my VV. She wasn't his wife but a woman that he had loved and never had the courage to tell her of his feelings.

I listened to his sad tale of a lost love, bad choices and regrets. He never married and had no one to leave his legacy. After a while he left and I stayed lost in thought for a while before making my way back home.

Jungkook and Jimin had a fitting for their wedding suits and they had asked me to join them but I had declined and sent Aaria instead. I was so conflicted after our night together. He had made his intentions plain to me. It was simple. He loved me. He had waited for me for years, but he couldn't wait any longer. He was marrying Jimin and moving away to start a new life with him. He gave me a choice, an ultimatum of sorts. I had until midnight of the day before his intended nuptials to decide. After that, all bets were off. He would belong to Jimin and he would sever all ties with me. Aaria would always be his daughter but he couldnt include me in his life thereafter.

What we had last night was the last. It would not happen again. He was committed to the doctor and he wasn't turning his back on a chance at real happiness again. I had sat there, impotently, and listened to his rant until he grabbed his things and left to pick up his fiancè.

I watched him walk out of the door, walk out of my life and I couldn't stop him. My fear stopped me. It enveloped me in its cold hug until I gave up and came to visit my VV.
