"Talk to me baby please. I can see you hurting so much. I can't stand you crying like this," Taehyung said, stroking Jin's back gently. Seokjin's cries slowly became sniffles and he moved back a little, gazing into Taehyung's soft eyes.
"I love you Jinnie. I love you so much."
"Come, let's sit out here for a bit." He led them to the small balcony outside his room. Seokjin held on to Taehyung's hand tightly, not wanting to let him go.
They sat down on some porch chairs and Jin called Viktor with instructions to buy breakfast for the 3 of them. When he was done, he turned to Taehyung, a small smile appearing at the corner of his mouth. Taehyung leaned in and intertwined their fingers.
"Come sit on my lap Jinnie."
Seokjin did as he was told. It was much more comfortable in Taehyung's lap.
"I have a story to tell you V.V. Will you listen without interrupting? I promise I won't take long."
Taehyung kissed Jin's lips tenderly. It was the first time that he was so gentle with him. Seokjin purred at the love he felt in that kiss. Yes, he would gain the courage to tell Taehyung everything.
Flashback
"Why papa?! Why did you do it? How could you? I'm your son, yet you betrayed me."
"Seokjinnah, we are low class people. They are powerful. If I hadn't told him, he would have slaughtered his own son. Do you want the blood of the person you love on your own hands?"
Seokjin couldn't cry. He vowed that he would never shed another tear over Taehyung again. He held his emotions in check and told his father that he was ready to meet with Mr Kim.
His father sighed heavily but made his way to the office in the mansion. Seokjin followed him at a slower pace. He waited outside while he was announced. He took one last look at his poor father and walked in.
Mr Kim was a well built man. He had kept his body strong and fit over the years. He was also quite ruthless in his decisions and punishments. He looked at Seokjin with vehemence.
"Am I to believe what your father is saying as the truth? That you wrote a letter to my son, professing your love for him?"
Seokjin nodded. He looked at his shoes, unable to make eye contact.
"And your father intercepted this letter and also replied as my son, telling you that he did not reciprocate?"
"You are correct Mr Kim."
The silence in the room felt like a noose around Seokjin's neck.
"You will leave immediately. I will ensure that your studies and accommodation are seen to. You will not have any contact with my son henceforth. If you defy my edict, I will destroy your family. And ... I will kill Taehyung! I will kill my own son with my bare hands. Do you understand me Seokjin?" He leaned in close to Jin and hissed in his ear. "I will not be responsible for his death. You will be.
My son is a complete idiot! He doesn't know what he wants out of his life. I give in to his whims and fancies but I will ensure that when I am good and ready, he will do what I want. And you, my dear, are not a part of my plans for him. Leave! I don't ever want to see your face again!"
Seokjin walked out of the mansion and never looked back. He carved a nichè for himself in the world of entertainment and he felt satisfied with his accomplishments. But his life was never complete until he met and fell in love with Taehyung all over again.
Present
Taehyung didn't utter a word. His face was stoic. Jin was worried that he might have said too much and that Taehyung would now leave him, calling him a liar.
"Tell me what you wrote in the letter," he said quietly, stroking Jin's back gently.
"I-I asked you to meet me at our old treehouse if you loved me back. I told you how much I loved you since we were kids and how jealous I was of others who were near to you. I didn't know how you would feel about me. I was so scared but I had faith in my love. But you never came. You didn't even come see me at the train station."
"My eomma was very ill that night Jinnie. I stayed up with her, nursing her. I didn't let the maids tend to her. I was so tired the next morning when you left. I woke up after midday and I went to look for you but you had already left. I tried contacting you so many times but I never got a reply. Letters, phonecalls...nothing. I thought you left me Jinnie."
Taehyung looked into the sad eyes of his lover. Tears formed in them, and he crushed his body into Jin's. He held him tightly, never wanting to let go.
"I love you so much Jinnie. Please don't ever leave me again. Promise me."
"I can't promise you that. Your father will kill my family and he will kill you if we are together. What we have now, this is all we can ever have. I'm sorry Taehyung. You have to leave. Please. I can't see you get hurt because I love you."
Seokjin began to sob again and Taehyung's heart broke at the sight. How could he not see his love for him all these years. He was stupid.
"Please Jinnie. Don't chase me away again. I can't take your rejection anymore. We'll work something out. I don't know how as yet but I'll figure it out. But please....please don't throw me away again."
Seokjin looked into the tearful eyes of the man he had loved his whole life. His heart pained with the grief that he had held within it for so long. He couldn't do it. He couldn't reject him anymore.
He leaned in and smashed his lips against his lover's in a tender and tear-filled kiss. I will love you forever my V.V.
