—The noise of my right foot tapping on the white tiled floor chimed around the vacant hospital. I had my head dropped down in exhaustion and by worrying about the nameless man. It has been a long duration since the surgery has been going on. 8 hours and that's freaking long.

Doctors went inside and came out. I tried asking them " How is he now? " but they just shook their head saying " he is in a really critical position right now. We can't say anything." I groaned out in the guilt that was eating me out. Is he going to be alright?

My fingers went through my hair and then gripping and tugging on my hair tightly. My head was throbbing. It was past midnight and I didn't have an ounce of sleep. That car crash was replaying in my head like a broken record and the fact that because of me a man's life was on edge, that was enough to make me nauseatic and feeling like taking my life just so he can have his' back.

All I wanted was him to wake up. Why did he even jumped in front of my car? Why did he said ' thank you '? Why was there a relief on his face when he was actually in so much pain? All these questions were eating me out.

I sighed and brought my hand and rubbed my face through my sweaty palms. I was beyond tired. I gaped towards the OP door where I could see a green light just above the door, signaling that the surgery was still going on. After a few minutes, I heard a ting sound and my head quickly bucked up to see the door opening.

The main surgeon came out and I quickly went on my feet and strolled towards him.

" How did the surgery went, doctor? "

I asked him hastily and I saw his face was rather relieved.

" The surgery went successful. All thanks to God. He lost a lot of blood which made it really hard for us to do anything initially. But surprisingly, he was fighting himself. He wasn't giving up. He didn't gain consciousness right now. But he will soon. "

The doctor said and I grinned brightly. I licked my lips and bowed down in respect.

" All thanks to you. I don't how grateful I am to you. "

He chuckled and held my shoulders to give rise to me up again.

" Just pay the bills and that will be fine. "

He said and strode away from there. I tilt my head and looked over my shoulder to see him walking away.

" A weird one for sure. "

I arrived back at the hospital after changing my apparel and resting a little. It was 9 am and that unknown guy was shifted to the private ward suit. It was on the 12th floor of the hospital.

I was standing outside of the room and gawking inside through the small round window on the door. Two nurses and the doctor who operated on him were checking his after-effects of surgery I guess. I could see he gained consciousness too.
