I sit up in bed, the sunlight from the crack in the window blinding me.
I wince as my feet touch the wooden floor beneath me.
I need to sweep this up.
I say, looking at the dust.
I go through my normal routine; cleaning my teeth, brushing my hair, throwing it up in ponytail.
Today I decide to wear ripped jeans, with the bottom folded up. I tuck into it a short sleeved white shirt a rainbow on the sleeves. As I go downstairs, I bash quite literally, into Destiny."Hi Maddie" She said, gazing up at me.
"You alright?" I kneel down so I'm on her level.
"I had a bad dream last night. "
"Oh no,"
"But then I put up the dream catcher you got me and I was fine"
I smiled at her. For Christmas I got her a dream catcher and told her it would catch her bad dreams.
"That's good." I say, as I take her hand and bring her downstairs.
"You're going to Grandma and grandpa's house today Destiny" My mum says as we walk through the corridor leading to the kitchen. I grab an apple and throw on my bag. I give Destiny a kiss on the forehead "see ya soon"***
I sit down and pull my book out of my bag. The professor starts talking, and I write the date down. 7th of February 2008.
The lecture carries on as it usually does, the professor droning on and on. As she gets to recapping what juxtaposition is, I look at the time. 5:35.
Five more minutes of this lesson, then half an hour of the next. Easy.
As I stretch my legs out, I get a call from my mum.
"Who's phone is that?"
I raise my hand slowly, it still vibrating in my hand. " Can I take this?" I ask quietly. The whole room is staring my way.
The teacher sighs.
" Yes, but next time put it on silent. "I stand outside the room.
"Mum! Im in a lecture"
She sniffles.
"Mum?"
"Come home now"
"I can't. What's wrong?"
"Destiny's gone"That's the last I remember.
