A planetary rebellion
shuttering us inside
our houses
without humans
the air is cleaner
the Earth
is trying to heal
humanity
an unwitting
blight
on the world
some tried
some tried to save her
reusable bags
and recycled cans
a bandaid
on the open wound
while the world
bleeds out
we meant well
we say
there is beauty to balance
our volatility
maybe the Earth
will be
kind enough
to mourn us
