Allyson started playing soccer in elementary school, following in the footsteps of her older sister, Ashlyn. She was offered a partial scholarship to the University of Oxford, where she studied physiotherapy with a specialization in sports injury rehabilitation. She was then offered a contract with Birmingham City in 2011, which she played for two years before getting traded to Arsenal, which she played up until this past season, 2017.
Allyson has come back once a year since 2007 when she originally moved to the UK. She has only ever come home during Christmas/Winter break since during the summer she has been either working or playing soccer.
Allyson is dating Sarah, who is a physiotherapist. They met when Allyson got traded from Birmingham City to Arsenal. They have been together for just over 2 years. They have not lived together before but will be living together in Portland.
Allyson has a close relationship with her parents and older brother Chris, however, she has not been that close to her older sister, Ashlyn, since they had a huge argument/falling out when Allyson decided to move to the UK and play soccer there instead of UNC like her and Ashlyn had talked about. Both of them are too stubborn to move past it.
