Bitch, shut the fuck up before I smack your short ass!

 Das right, walk away.....

The whole school yard at Warren Roads H.S. was holding their breath. Then it happened. Divinity, stopped walking, turned around and spit out her gum. She turned around tapped Marshelle, on the shoulder WHOMP! cleaned her fucking clock with one punch! She would have kept punching her except she heard her name. DIVINITTTTTTTYYYYYYY!!!!

Shit! She thought to herself. The whole crowd broke apart and all that was left was Marshelle, who was still on the ground, her and her mama.

(Divinity's mom) Girl, what in the hell is wrong with you? Why in the hell you out here fighting like a dog in the street. huh? Huh she grabbed Divinity's arm and shook her.

Divinity didn't answer. Although she had won the fight, her mama was going to win the war.

(Divinity Mom) I had it. Get your little ass in the car.

Divinity opened her mouth and her mom straight slapped the taste out of it. Her creamy skin quickly turned red with the imprint of her mama's handprint in it. She pulled off into the 92 degree day.

Divinity held back the tears from the pain she was feeling. As soon as they pulled up and got out of the car her mom shoved her in the house. Take your ass in there and pack all your shit. You are no longer welcomed in my home.

Divinity went to her room and opened her closet. She pulled out the huge suitcase and unpacked her dresser contents into it. It took her about 20 minutes to condense her life into. She looked at the picture that sat atop her white dresser. Her and her mom when she had come back cheer camp last year. Seemed as if that was the last time they had been happy with each other. She put it back up there. She didn't want to take that memory with her. She could have it.

In the other room...

Shalonda: Derrick you have to take this child, I've had it. I'm not doing it another fucking day. She is here acting like a wild animal. I'm driving her to the airport, you pick her up.

Divinity went in the bathroom, brushed her teeth and changed out of her school outfit. She shoved it in a plastic bag and threw on some jeans a t shirt and sneakers. She wasn't sure where her father was living these days, but she needed to be ready for anything when she stepped off that plane.

Shalonda- Divinity, lets move.

The entire ride to the airport was quiet.

Shalonda would look over every so often, but Divinity was looking out the window. When she pulled up to the curb she told her to get out and get her bag. She gave her $250 dollars a phone number and address. Good luck child. With that she pulled off.

Divinity exhaled and wheeled her luggage and duffle bag into the airport. She looked at the address on the paper....

The ride to  California was long and she was ready for it to be over. Between the oversized man next to her snoring and the lady across the aisle who coughed 1/2 the ride there she was deeply disgusted.

When she arrived at the baggage claim, she pulled her bag off the carousel and looked around. She didn't see her dad... She wasn't even sure if she would remember what he looked like after all this time.

Her phone rings and she looks at the number. Hello?

Derrick- Divinity, I couldn't make it to the airport, still at work, but someone is there to grab you, he should have your name on a sign. See you at home.
