Trying Times- Part 3

Meecho parks the car and jumps out quickly.... excuse me , excuse me he says making his way to the front of the crowd.  He looked around the crowd for Divinity, All the white shirts and navy plaid skirts  of St. Madonna  Rose, seemed to be blending in.... 
He was damn near panic mode when the doors open up. Out comes  Divinity and another girl. The teacher that was with them says well done ladies... A girl standing next to Meecho says so who won?????

The teacher says Divinity Carrington, is your new student Debate Club President. Congratulations, Divinity. She hands her a gold pin to put on her lapel.   There were a few applause but the rest of the crowd dispersed. Meecho looks at her expression. Divinity, looked as if she didn't give a damn, one way or another. The girl she had run against looked pissed. 

Meecho  says congratulations Divinity.
Divinity- thank you. Meecho takes her bags and her jacket. He walks her to the car and opens the door.

Lets go celebrate your big win. Divinity no need. Meecho- woah, did something else happen inside?Divinity- Its cool, I don't want to talk about it.
Meecho reaches for her hand and she lets him put his fingers through hers. I got just the perfect place for you.
Divinity- I have homework, MeechoMeecho- you're top of your class and its Friday, don't give me that.
Divinity pouts... I need to change my clothes first....
Meecho - Aight. They drive about 25 minutes and head to her house.
They walk in and Derrick is yelling into the phone. Don't play with me Shalonda, she isn't a rag dog to be passed back and forth!!!!!
Well, what did you think was going to happen when she came to live with me?
you sent this girl here with scraps and I was sending you thousands per month.
Divinity pushes the glass door closed and Derrick comes out of the kitchen. He says hey baby, how was school?
Shalonda rolls her eyes on the other end of the phone and says bet the little bitch got into some more trouble today.
Divinity can hear her spitting hate through the phone. She says good, daddy. Excuse me. She turns to go up the stairs and Derrick goes back to yelling at Shalonda and Meecho sits in the Livingroom in deep thought.
When Derrick hangs up, he says how is it going?
Derrick sighs it could be better. Her mom just takes me places I don't want to go too.
Meecho says you seem real stressed. Derrick- I am Meecho - Hope  it gets better. Derrick me too, but listen, I plan to have some lady company this weekend. Would you mind entertaining Divinity at your place. Meecho says I don't think my mom will mind..... his mouth drops open. Divinity takes the final step and says I'm ready. Derrick.... you look gorgeous baby. He kisses her cheek.  Have fun.  Meecho says  grab some weekend clothes and  come back down, I got a surprise for you.Divinity looks at her dad. He shrugs have a good time.
Divinity and males had never been used in the same sentence. Her mother told her that she would beat her into a grave if she showed up pregnant or caught a boy in her house. Needless to say, she hadn't had a boyfriend. Meecho, kissing her that first night made her nervous.

She still felt like she should be looking over her shoulder.  She throws some clothes in a bag a tooth brush and grabbed her laptop. Maybe Meecho wasn't  going to do any homework but, she was.

She came downstairs kissed her father goodbye and Meecho opened and closed the door for her. They were off. She had no clue where.... on the freeway he grabs her hand. She holds his tightly... He didn't know it, but some days he was all she had. 
A tear slipped from her eye and she quickly tried to wipe it. Meecho saw it, he saw everything.  He had been watching  Divinity ever since she had arrived in LA. Sometimes she knew he was watching and sometimes he didn't. He just wanted to see what made her tick. 

He brings her around his way... She gets out and this time the block is a little more lively.... He takes her bags and they go in the house. He throws his keys in his pocket. and says come on short stuff. She follows him all the way to the to his bedroom apt. downstairs. He unlocks the door and opens it for her. She says damn my room almost big as  yours. He sucks his teeth and says ummm k spoiled butt. He says welcome to  my humble abode.
Divinity looks around while he sits on the bed and then falls back....  he rubs his hands over his face  and says damn. Meecho Vinny....come here. Divinity goes over to the bed and is looking at him. Meecho I got a question for you....Divinity what's up?Meecho Divinity, what makes you happy?Divinity never had anyone ask her that before.Meecho says think about it and get back to me.
Divinity nods. Meecho says you ready to go outside?Divinity yup. lets see your part of town.Meecho in a minute... he puts her arm and she falls on the bed across his chest. He said but first, where's my kiss at?
They fall into a really slow kiss.  She had the softest lips ever.
