My Broken Fairytale
This poem is dedicated to the monsters that broke me . . . But regardless of how shattered I am, I'm still fighting. I'm not letting them win . . .
If Prince Charming doesn't come
And sweep me off my feet
I'll know I'll be okay
Because, for me, he isn't the one
Along time ago, I stopped believing
In the fairytales and love stories
I learned what really happens
To little girls in the night
It's nothing short of a nightmare,
And nothing is alright
There was no one there to save me
And no one there to say
That these things happened to others
And the pain would soon go away
Growing up, you watched others
As they hugged and held hands
And leaned in to kiss
Each other's lips
And then you wished for your Prince
To come and swoop you off your feet
For him to lean down and kiss
Those gorgeous, perfect lips
But my kisses were tainted
Some time, long ago
When he came and crawled in bed
And whispered he didn't want to go
He laid there with me
All night long
And touched between my legs
Those moments didn't pass by fast enough
And I could not get away
And now you know my story
It isn't one of Queens and Kings
There was no Prince Charming
That came along to save me
