"So, what does someone get for their sister who finds joy in shooting guns and punching aliens?" I asked Barry as we walked through the mall. There was 2 days until Christmas, and now more than ever, I needed to get Alex the PERFECT Christmas present.

Alex still never told me about what was bugging her yesterday, but clearly, it was something big.

I went to go check in with the D.E.O. that morning, and Brainy said that she never came to work. So, I went to her apartment.

Earlier that day...

I walked up to the door and knocked.

Nothing.

I knocked again.

I heard a loud "Ugh," come from inside. There were some loud footsteps until the aggressive lock turning could be heard and the door was ripped open to reveal Alex. She didn't realize it was me at first, so she quickly changed her reaction once she could see my face.

"WHAT- oh, Kara, what are you doing here?" She slurred. She was holding a glass of red wine. She was spinning it, and the liquid inside was only a few centimeters from spilling out as it spun.

"Alex, are you drunk?" I asked her. I was able to look over her shoulder and saw a few empty bottles of wine on the counter. One was on its side, threatening to roll off the edge, another was placed normally, however there was a large crack in it.

To add to the mess, there was glass scattered around the counter. It seemed to be the remains of a glass, as its stem was still in perfect shape as it stood there.

She leaned her hand on the doorway, right in my line of sight into the room.

"Hey, no changing the subject, missy! What are you doing here, Keira?" Wow, how intoxicated is she?

"My name is Kara, not Keira," I corrected her, wrapping my arm around her waist as I guided her back to the couch.

"WHAT!?!? NO WAY!!!" She laughed. I turned my attention towards the counter, where I used my hands to sweep up the glass while I talked to Alex.

"Why have you been so upset?" I tried to use this experience as a way of figuring out what had her in this downward spiral, and seeing as how she was drinking, it was probably one of the better times to ask.

"Well, I got to work on my... my vroom vroom (here, she took a moment to laugh about her choice of words) and I got a call from... what's her name? Lois or Lana?" She looked to me for help.

"Kelly," I murmured, clapping the rest of the glass shards off of my hands and into the trash can. I almost laughed at the fact that the two names she came up with were Clark's high school sweetheart and his wife.

"OH YEAH!! Well, she broke up with me, I think it's because I ate the last Hot Pocket," She burped at the end.

"Oh, Alex, I'm so sorry-" I tried to say, but apparently, the rest of the alcohol kicked in, and her mood changed completely.

"You know what, Kara? I think you should get out of my business, go find someone else's problems to snoop around in."

"Alex, I was just trying to-"

"To do what? To help? Taking advantage of me isn't going to bring Purity back."

"It's Kelly-"

"I really think you should leave Kara. Go find a cat to get out of a tree with your cool superpowers in your cool suit with your cool friends. I'll be here when you realize the mistake that you've made so you can come and apologize."
