Amnesia

Chapter 2

August 21st 2014. 6:53am.

Riley Matthews, your typical 7th grader walked into John Quincy Adams Middle School. Riley showed up at school early because she is showing a new girl around school. Since her dad, Mr.Matthews, works at her school Riley had to show the new girl around. Riley was told that she has five class with this girl. That is the main reason why she has to show her around.

But Riley doesn't mind. She loves meeting new people. Even if it means to wake up earlier then usual. Riley has always wanted a friend. Riley does have friends but they are boys. Basically, she just wants a girl friend. She loves her friends now, but sometimes she can't tell boys some stuff.

Shes growing up, growing comes with a lot of things. Riley just needs a friend that understands what shes going through.

Maybe this girl will change everything.

Riley planted a smile on her face as she entered the front office.

"Hi I am here to walk a new girl around.'' Riley smiled at the lady behind the desk.

"Over there.'' The lady says.

"Thank you.''

Riley turned around and saw a girl. The girl around Riley's age. 12 maybe. Long blonde hair with ocean blue eyes that matched perfectly. She is playing with her thumbs.

Riley smiles and walks towards the girl. "Hi."

The blonde girl looks up at Riley and smiles.

"Hi." The blonde manages to get out.

"I'm Riley.''

"I'm Maya.''

Maya has never met a girl like Riley. Maya use to live in Brooklyn and was raised there. There are no friendly people in Brooklyn. If there ever was, they would be dead in a split second. Brooklyn isn't a friendly neighborhood. Riley is sweet and nice, that is what surprised Maya.

Maya hung out with thieves most of the time. With their strong accents and guns hidden in their jackets, Maya could never say no to hanging out with them. Maya got use to it, but now she is here, where no one will hurt you.

''It is pretty early, but do you want a tour of the school?" Riley asked Maya with the most adorable smile ever.

"Sure sounds good.'' Maya smiled.

Maya grabbed her backpack and Riley opened the door for Maya. Maya smiled and walked past Riley and Riley closed the door.

"So what class do you have first?"

"History with Mr.Matthews.'' Maya annouced without having to take her schedule out.

"Me too! We have five classes together. I think we have periods one. two, four, five and six together.''

"But what about period three? I don't want to be alone.''

"It will be fine. Maybe you'll get period three with one of my friends. I will introduce you to them then you won't be alone.''

Maya smiled. Maya was praying that she had period three with one of Riley's friends. She didn't want to be alone on her first day of school. Also, Riley was only Maya's only friend even though they had just met. But the two girls felt a friendship being formed. A strong one.

"Great. Now, whats your third period?" Riley asked.

"Chemistry with Mrs.Roberts.'' Maya answered again, without looking at her schedule. she already had it memorized.

"Mine is art. Since art is only a few classrooms away from the chemistry lab. We can met there. I have lunch right after that.''

"Me too!"

Riley giggles. "This is great!"

Riley looks at her phone which has the wallpaper of her favorite movie, Harry potter. The time reads 7:13am.

"School starts in about 15 minutes. I will show you to first period, and then the rest of the day, we will see each other.'' Riley says placing her phone in her pocket.

"Great. Let's go." Maya smiles.

Riley smiles back and then the two girls head towards the seventh grade hallways.

This is the start of an amazing friendship.
