SalamI wish everybody reading this an extremely late happy new year and I apologize for not updating and hope I have not lost my readers.
Heads up...its a really short chapter.

*Zara*

"somebody help me" as I started to run into the hospital but thankfully a nurse was already running towards me she took Ameera from me and rushed through a set of swinging doors ,I made to go after her but was stopped by another nurse

" I'm sorry miss, you can't go in but I need you to tell me what happened"

but I wasn't listening and Mami shook me a little to gain my attention and the nurse repeated herself

" its important you tell me exactly what happened miss, the Doctor will need to know"

I turned to look at her then,

" OK" I said and told her everything I'd noticed about Ameera right from yesterday night to when we walked into the hospital

" OK then, thank you, if you will sit here the doctor will be out soon to talk to you and I'm sure your daughter will be fine"

I heard Mami say thank you to the nurse before she steered me to the chairs that were there while the nurse left, then It occured to me that they needed to know about the Kasai procedure

" wait!" I called to the nurse and told her about it and how I suspected that it must have failed, she nodded and then went through the same swinging doors my daughter had been rushed through. Mami made me sit down next to her and I felt someone sit beside me and looked up to see that it was Rafik

'Pray Zara, pray to Allah, that's all you can do now" Rafik said

And that's exactly what I was doing when almost three hours later the Doctor came out. I quickly got up as did Mami and Rafik

"Who's the mother please?" He asked

"I am, how is she?"

"She's OK now, she's stable but she's asleep..."

He trailed off then but it looked like he had more to say, his eyes shifted to Mami and Rafik who were standing behind me

"They are family, you can talk in front of them" I quickly said, he nodded before he spoke again

" when she was brought in her breathing was shallow so we applied oxygen, and she's still on it"

"Thank you doctor, can I...I mean can we see her now please?"

"Yes..of course, but please be careful not to wake her up she needs to rest, the nurse will show you to her room, I guess we will talk about what happened after you see her?"

"Yes please" I answered hurriedly

"OK then, Mary please show them the way" he said motioning to the nurse behind him.

We walked behind her down a few wards and a corridor before we went through another ward that read I.C.U, my heart sank when I read it, she stopped at a door that read "05" and opened it,we walked in and she left shutting the door quietly behind her.
There was a single bed in the room and Ameera was on it, she was hooked to a monitor, a drip at her wrist and an oxygen mask on her face, she looked so frail and the tears welled up in my eyes, I just stood there transfixed staring at my little girl, I felt like I couldn't move closer, it was so hard to watch her like that but Mami nudged me forward

"Go on" she murmured
