Best Friends

Maya repositioned her blanket for like the millionth time, trying to get it perfect as she looked at herself in the view finder. "Are you sure you can't tell I'm pregnant?"

Riley rolled her eyes as she flopped down next to her best friend on the nicely decorated bed in Maya's teenage bedroom. "Yes, even without the blanket you can't tell. You just look bloated or as if you've gained a few pounds."

"Jeez, thanks," Maya said, taking her turn to roll her eyes.

"You are just now starting to pop out. I'm pretty sure I was already a size of house when I was nineteen weeks."

Maya frowned, staring at herself in the view finder. "I'm just going to slip on one of Josh's shirts, so I'm less paranoid."

"Okay," Riley said, watching her best friend pull a suitcase from under the bed and taking out one of her uncle's hoodies and slipping it on over her tank top before adjusting her now dark hair ponytail.

"Are you ready?" Maya asked, getting back comfortable and readjusting the blanket before handing Riley her glass of wine.

"I guess," Riley sighed, taking a sip. "What if we get a question I'm not comfortable answering?"

"Then we edited it out," Maya shrugged, looking over at her anxious best friend. "We don't have to do this if you don't want to."

"I know," Riley breathed out. "And I want to. I'm just nervous."

"Don't be," Maya eased. "You don't have to answer any question you aren't comfortable answering. I'll edit it out," she promised, taking a sip of her grape juice in a wine glass.

"Okay," Riley nodded. "I'm ready."

Maya gave her best friend a small smile. "I'm just going to begin explaining a little of what is going on since this is my first video back that wasn't prerecorded or a quick sponsored video that I promised to do, then we will go in to our Q&A, and remember no mentioning my baby. I'm not going to say anything about my pregnancy until Josh is better and I can do a video with him to announce it."

"Okay," Riley nodded again.

Maya took her remote pushing record before beginning her video. "Hey everyone!" she clapped her hands together. "It is so good to be back and recording a video. I know I've been away for a while so let's just address some things first. Like my hair! Yes, I did go dark, but don't worry if you hate it. I don't need your little comments telling me how much you hate it and how I look better as a blonde. I do plan on going back blonde. I just wanted to give my hair a little break so don't worry. Now, obviously," she said, gesturing around the room. "You probably noticed, I'm not at my home. Me and my hubby are staying at my parents during his recovery, so you will be seeing me having little set up throughout their place, and speaking of my hubby, I wanted to thank you guys for your endless love and support and prayers for Josh and for your understanding of why I've been gone for so long. It has meant the world to me...I don't want to cry," she stopped herself, fanning her eyes when she felt herself start to get emotional as Riley rubbed her back, supporting her best friend. "It has been a long hard month with the accident then right when Josh was going to get out of the hospital he caught a case of pneumonia while in the hospital and had to stay in the hospital a little longer but Josh is finally "home". He's been "home" for about two weeks now and I know he is going to want to tell you guys thank you himself when he is ready. Right now, he is still recovering and focusing on that, but he is getting better every single day. He's been amazing and so strong, and is actually enjoying watching some kind of sports thing with my dad right now, so sorry if you hear some yelling in the background."
