"Oh dear." Madam Pomfrey utters as she finishes doing a body scan. "I can give you something for the pain, but due to the extensive use of the hex, I can't heal all your bruises." She gets up and accios a potion, gesturing for me to drink it. My eyes widen in surpise at her words. "They will have to heal in their own time." She explains. "It might take up to a month considering the substantial damage." A pitying look adorns her face and she waits for my reaction.

"I see." I swallow harshly. "Thank you, Madam Pomfrey." I whisper, drinking the potion in one big gulp. "What... happens now?" I ask uncertainly, looking up at the matron and my friends behind her.

"I shall go have a word with Minerva, while you rest here. Ms. Parkinson and Ms. Lee, you will return to class." Panic siezes me at the thought of being alone for Smith to come find me. Pansy sputters in indignation.

"What if he comes looking for her? She's supposed to be in Life Class with him right now!" Pansy exclaims, Morgan nodding along intently. "We'll stay with her."

"That's quite enough. I will ward her bed so he can't enter. Now if you will return to class. I'm sure Ms. Jones would appreciate some alone time." Pomfrey says primly. The urge to deny wanting alone time and having someone with me is on the tip of my tounge, but noticing the conflict in my friends eyes and the stern eye of the Matron, I nod slowly.

"I'll be okay guys. Don't worry about me." I try to smile reasuringly at their uncertain faces. "Are you sure?" Morgan steps up to me, eyes filled with worry that almost makes my heart burts with love for my friend. "I'm sure." I smile lightly. She sighs but nods, waving over her shoulder as Pansy follows. "I'll make sure nothing happens." Pansy mouths as she walks out the door. I frown, wondering what on earth she's talking about.

Now that they are gone, Pomfrey turns to me again.

"I have to ask you a couple of questions, so that we know the extent of what happened." She says, adorning a clinical sort of persona. My stomach sinks of the thought of having to discuss this with her, but I nod anyway.

"Your friend said this has been going on since September. So almost three months. Is this true?"

"Yes." I whisper, mildly surprised that it had been so long. It's almost Christmas for christs sake.

"And was the brusing hex the extent of the abuse?" I swallow, knowing if I speak my voice will betray me. I shake my head. Her eyes soften and I can't help the tears that well up in my eyes. I pull the duvet up higher, clutching it to my chest as I sit ramrod straight in the bed.

"He hurt you physically as well?" I nod, keeping my eyes fixed on my lap, hoping she won't see the tears, but knowing they're on full display anyway.

"I'm sorry if this makes you uncomfortable, but I have to ask, dear. Did he ever rape you?" Her voice is soft and I close my eyes, biting my lower lip to keep from crying. My heart hammers in my head and my stomach churns painfully. I nod harshly and open my eyes at the sound of her takeing a sharp inhale.

"Would you like me to check for any pregnancy?" She asks, reaching for her wand.

"Yes, please." I choke out, hating the feeling of being so vulnerable. Pomfrey nods and cast a spell that causes my abdomen to tingle. After a moment a faint red light appears. I look to her, eyes wide in anticipation. Please let me get some good news.

"You're not pregnant, dear." I sigh in relief, covering my face with my hands as I take a moment to collect myself. I wipe my tears and turn to Pomfrey.

"Thank you." I whisper, trying to smile but knowing it doesn't reach my eyes in the slightest.

"Of course, dear." She gets up, placing her wand back in her robes. "I have warded this area, so he won't be able to get close to you. I'm going to speak to Minerva. I suggest you get some well needed rest. I'll also send up some food. By the looks of it, you need it." She turns around and walks out, leaving me alone.
