"Make sure Mr. Spencer doesn't leave" Karen said to me, leading me out of her office. "I want a few words with him.""Of course" I nodded, following after him.
"Woah there crazy" I called out, seeing him walk down the steps towards a motorcycle.
"Oh, I'm sorry" He said turning to me, "Did you feel left out? I can give you a little psychic action as well." He said, putting two fingers towards his head.
"Please don-" I began to say before he cut me off.
Shawn started to shake his body violently and fall to the ground before looking up at me, inspecting me once again.
"You live alone, you're an animal person, but because of your apartments rules you only have a fish. And you have a date this Friday."
"I don't have a date this Friday?" I said, eyeing him.
"Now you do" He winked, walking away from me.
"Not so fast Mr. Spencer" Karen called out, taking me out of my dumbfounded state. "Karen Vick, police chief."
"I know" He nodded, turning towards her.
"Heard about what you did in there" She said, walking down the stairs.
"Oh, you're welcome." He shrugged.
"Wasn't the phrase I was going to use," She smiled, placing her hands on her hip. "I was going to say improbable, impossible, yet unlikely."
"It's hard to explain" Shawn replied, "I'm gifted. I was born that way"
"I knew your father, he was a good cop. You are nothing like him."
"I take that as a compliment, ma'am"
"Don't ever call me ma'am" She lightly huffed.
"Am I free to go now?"
"Not exactly" She answered quickly, "You familiar with the McCallum family?"
"Yeah, they own half the hill"
"Well, there's been a kidnapping" She replied.
"Oh come on, I had nothing to do with that" Shawn answered annoyedly.
"Would you like to?" She smirked, "The Feds are itchin' to take on this case and I need to make progress. What I need is a miracle."
"Oh" Shawn whispered, "I see, I see. Will, I make 1200 dollars a day."
"It's a tryout" She corrected him.
"That's what I mean."
"If this psychic thing is a scam, we will prosecute. You know hindering a police investigation is a criminal offense." She matter of factly stated as she walked up the stairs. "Also!" She called out, turning to me. "You're on the case now as well."
Karen walked back inside and Shawn turned to me.
"How long do you think you'll get away with this?" I asked, walking towards him.
