Chapter 19

Uraraka opened her eyes slowly and blinked. She was looking at a bleak white ceiling. Slowly her feelings returned to her. Her face felt sore and her throat was dry. She closed her eyes as the memories of the battle began flooding back. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps. Someone sat in the chair next to the bed, their hand touched hers, and she immediately recognized the hand.

"D-Deku..?" Uraraka croaked

He yelped in surprise. She opened her eyes and looked over to see a teary eyes Deku. He was grinning ear to ear. He looked like he was about to cry. He pulled her into a hug and began sobbing something incoherent.

"Deku, you need to calm down. I can't understand what you're saying." she said giggling slightly

Deku grew quiet and buried his face in her shoulder, he hugged her tightly. She wrapped her arms around her adorable boyfriend. Deku lifted his head and looked at Uraraka. That was when she noticed how bad Deku looked. He had looked extremely tired, his cheeks were slightly stained with tear marks. She held his face in her hands, inspecting his face. He pressed his cheek against her hand, gazing happily at her.

"I'm so glad you're awake." He whispered gazing lovingly at her chocolate eyes

"Deku..? Can you tell me what happened after I passed out? I only remember crying, needles, red and blue lights, and lots of pain.." She said trailing off

"Are you sure? It's kinda traumatizing.." Deku said sadly as he intertwined his hand with hers

"Yeah, I need to know what happened." Uraraka said as she squeezed his hand lightly

Deku sighed and Uraraka rested her head on Deku's lap. She looked up at him as he pulled a blanket over her body. Uraraka suddenly felt an itch on her face next to her eye. She reached her hand up to her face to get rid of the pesky thing. Uraraka noticed her skin felt rugged, it still somewhat resembled her soft skin but it felt different. She moved her hand along her face and noticed her eyebrow was completely gone. She trailed a finger downwards towards where her eye used to be. She began crying out of her right eye. Deku had gotten the blanket fully over her and noticed she was crying.

"Uraraka? What's wrong?" He asked gently as he held her hand.

"D-Deku...Do I look bad?" She asked through tears

"No Uraraka, you look beautiful." He said smiling

He leaned over and kissed her. He felt her lips curl up in a smile. He pulled away and gazed at her adorable face.

"I love you." He said grinning

"I love you too." She said as she cuddled against his chest.

"Do you wanna know what happened?" He said as he played with her hair

"Yes.." She replied

"Right after I busted out of the closet you put me in, you passed out. The police and ambulances arrived. You were taken in for emergency surgery. I went to the hospital with you. Your parents meet us here. Your injury was so bad you had to go in a medically induced coma.You were like that for five months..." He trailed off, his voice was cracking

She looked up at him, he had tears streaming down his face. She wiped away his tears and began kissing him all over his cheek. He laughed, his sadness disappeared. He ruffled her hair as she melted into his arms.

"Do you want anything?" He asked as he poked her pink cheeks

"Can I have water?" She asked awkwardly

"Sure, I'll go get you some." He said as he kissed her and got up
