Desmond started to talk about his world. He explained to me about each of the different Dimensions. This one was called Anrepra and the one that he was from was called Rotrade. He went futher into the history of the regions of Rotrade.
Desmond went into more details. "I lived in a one of the three region of Rotrade, called Egleau. The other two regions, Lleburus and Tangillon, had made peace with Egleau thousands of years ago, when they had made the Council of the United Regions of Rotrade, A.K.A. CURR of the council. However, about 6500 year ago, a group that called themselves The Children of the Lost Moon, A.K.A the CLM, invaded the land in the Egleau Region. The people who had lived there at the time had tried to make peace, but the CLM attacked a nearby village, leaving no surviors. When the village's hunting group came back from their week-long hunting trip, they found the village burnt to the group and the bodies of everyone who lived there. A couple men from the group went to tell the elders, who went on to tell the CURR. The council made the decision to help Egleau and attack the CLM." Desmond stopped and looked down at the sketch I had been drawing while he was talking. I looked back up at him, pushing him to go on with my eyes.
He had gotten my signal and continued the story. "The CURR had found out where one of the CLM outpost bases were and attacked. When they attacked, the CLM sent out a few children, which took more that a few soliders by suprise. Some soliders tried to ration woth the kids, but they stood there motionless. Then, as is a switch flipped in their heads, and they attacked all the nearby soliders. Only 19 out of the 200 soliders that went got away, and went back to the council to tell them everything that had happened. The council didn't react immediatley. They sent out another, bigger raiding party to try and take another base they spotted a few days earlier. When the soliders had gotten to the outpost, they killed everyone there, except for two little boys. The boys, who looked to be about 7 years old each, were just standing there until they started fighting back. One of the boys had managed to kill 166 soliders before one solider had snuck up behind him and killed him. The other one, who was still fighting, had taken out 213 soliders before someone had managed to knock the kid out and detain him. They brought him back to a labratory in Egleau, where he was observed. During one of the x-rays, a doctor had found a small metal chips in his body. They took the chips out and examined them seperately. After examination, they had discovered that the chips were made to amplify certain human abitities."
"What happened to the kids who had the chips?" I asked, looking up from my sketch for only a fraction of a second.
"The children said it was as if they didn't have control over their bodies, but after the chips where taken out, they went back to normal. They were just normal kids. Even so, the council decided to hold a trial for the kids they had continued to capture over the next few months. Most kids were found innocent and sent to live with families that were willing to take them in, but some kids were found guilty and thrown in prison for a short while before having another trial to plead their innocence. Over time, the scientists that worked for the council had come up with a new version of the chip. Our version of the chip let people still have control of their minds and had the ability to make the amplified human abilities stronger, making our chipped soliders stronger the that CLM's chipped soliders. They developed this technology about 550 years ago, and started testing immediately. The first few hundred tests didn't go so well. A lot of the people typically came out with permanent brain damage, insanity, and some even came out with their brain melted completely. After about 100 years of testing, scientists had started giving up, but there was one, Dr. Driscoll, whi didn't give up. He continued working on different expieriments and created a chip that he though would work for a fact. So, like all good scientists, he ran a test on it."
Desmond took a long pause. I looked up to find his staring at me, deeply. He inhaled before continuing. "They tested the chip on you."
I stared at Desmond for a long second, while trying to process the information. This boy I had never met had just told me that I was from another dimension and that I apparently have super human abilities due to a chip in my body. A chip that was put in my body about 400 years ago, while I'm only 17.
