THE RISE OF ALICE:She had to leave it was all too much. Her father wanted her at the top he had high expectations. They were all put on her but not on her on 'him'. The pressure was on Prince Arthur not Princess Artura it was doubled on what was expected. So she did what she thought was best she ran.
She looked back at he beloved kingdom her blessed home, she promised to never see it again. One last look at the place she wanted to belong but simply couldn't because of who she was.
Shrugging her bag she turned and enter into the forest entering into a life of adventure.
Days and nights had past she had grown accustomed to sleeping on the hard rocky ground. She gave small thanks to her father for teaching her who to hunt. She wasn't heading absolutely nowhere. Often she'd find a path leading over to a town but she avoided it not wanting to see people she was going to appreciate nature for once. She didn't hunt for game she hunted with the intent to eat, although she missed doing it for game because when they caught nothing it was less disappointing.
Artura placed a hand in the cold rushing waters. It sent shivers thought her body. She flinched but didn't retract her hand. She rubbed her hands together her hands feeling clean from all the dirt that had gathered washing away. She brought the water to her lips taking a small sip before splashing it on her face.
"I suppose your going to pay me for using my river, girl." A voice questioned from behind her. She froze in place her heart begining to race.
Slowly she wheeled herself around facing the stranger. It was a tall man with rough features he had a well made sword pointing at her chest. She had her hand raised as she spoke, "I believe that nature is free and comes at no coast." She knew she should be careful with her words for she was at this mans mercy, but no one could help her cleaver tongue
"Most is, but that will be 100 gold pieces Miss." He said taking a step closer squaring she took a step back her ankles being hit by the numbing water.
She suppressed a gasp from the sudden contact keeping her eyes firmly on him. "I don't have that sort of money of me." She replied. It was the truth she hadn't taken all that much with her. She had enough in case of an emergency but 100 gold pieces was above most peoples pay roll.
The man frowned lunging forward with his other arm grabbing hers and dragging her to her feet. "That is quiet unfortunate isn't it." She fought against his grip stomping on his foot. Sadly he didn't flinch what do ever just chuckled and began to drag her. "I guess we will have to find a different way for you to repay me."
Artura ignored the man focusing on escaping. She itched to grab her knife but was terrified he would follow her action and take it away. She screamed wishing someone of a good soul would be near to help her.
He threw her against a tree growling. "There's no one around for miles so I would suggest saving your breath." He leaned in towards her.
She shivered in fear her hand finally touching the hilt in one swift motion she drew the blade lodging the knife into his arm. He yelped and she scrambled to her feet trying to get as much distance as she could.
He clenched his teeth ripping his knife out. He was wise enough to toss it away but rather pointed it at her. "You blasted child." He roar charging at her.
Artura jumped out of his way doudging the knife. She picked up a thick branch off the ground in hopes to be a source of defense. "You asked for it." She cried back.
She smiled a little her plan so far had worked. Not the getting caught or anything but she had a feeling he would toss her if she screamed and his guard would be down thinking she was terrified and weak. Now she just need to get away a live.
Something smooth and sharp touched the center of her back. She arched a little looking behind her. A man dressed similar to another had a sword pointed to her again. "When he said no one around he meant to one around to help you." She whispered she swung her tree branch at the sword. It caught on a little of her skin.
Her eyes brimmed with tears but she pushed onward. Her heart hammered in her chest. She pushed him away with all her might. He stumbled but was quick to attack lunging at her. Although, only fifteen she still had quiet a few years of knights training under her belt. The only problem was moving as a guys was different than moving as a girl due to her having different builds. She was equally strong because that would actually be really odd if she wasn't.
The two bantered back and forth the mysterious man having the upper hand as each swing of the sword took a chunk out of her thick tree branch along with it groaning I protest of the contact of another hard force.
Artura desperately searched for an escape, but she had her back to a tree with high tree branches that she had no hope of reaching. "Your at the end of the line little girl." The man said menicingly. Artura gulped glancing at her beaten tree branch it was at it's end too.
Artura need a miracle and she needed one quick. Sadly, miracles come to the good. She was too much like her father at times to be blessed with a miracle. "I wouldn't be so sure about that." She replied forcing a confident smirk. This was fairly natural expression to force since she did it a lot as Arthur.
As if Artura had sent a que to her friend in the shadows a girl springs out walking the obsilivious man in the back of the head with a pan. A loud ringing echoed through the forest as the man dropped to the ground unconscious. Artura stood wide eyed, she thought that she really was about to meet her end.
The other was breathing hard as she dropped the pan seemingly shocked by her own actions. "Thanks," Artura mustered out. She smiled nodding. "I'm....A.." Artura didn't know what to say she had almost said Arthur but she wasn't right now then she thought to use her own name but if her father found out that wouldn't be pretty. "Aaaallliiccee?" She said drawing out each letter with uncertainty.
The girl smiled bring her own hand forward. "I'm Guinevere or Gwen for short."

A.N: Hey you all I actually had no ideas while I was righting but I did so that's great. Anyways sorry again for not updating this book all to often. I'm not entirely going through a writer's block since I can write other things easy, but it's like focused writer's block. I love Merlin the characters are great and the story is brilliant and watching clips from it brightens my day but ugh I don't know man. Anyways the world is crazy know I was texting a friend and we talked about this is the longest we have gone from hangout. We have had our fights but oddly it always was resolved quickly. I love all who read this book and admire you for looking past my mistakes.Issue #€: How should've Artura became Alice was this along the lines of what you guys might have imagined or should I be more epic? Should she have befriended Gwen differently? Do these guys in the woods play a bigger role later?
