Chapter 6

The next morning Charlotte got her robes on and ran down to the great hall for breakfast Harry stopped her right before she went in the door "come sit by us" he said happily "I thought we weren't supposed to mix the houses?" She said grinning "no one will tell" he whispered grinning also they slipped in unnoticed harry sat next to Ron who was stuffing his face with food and Charlotte sat between Ginny and Hermione "who is she" said Ginny coldly "this is my old friend Charlotte" said harry smiling Ginny looked at him confused "I went to muggle school with her" whispered harry hoping to jog her memory "oh! Nice to meet you finally" said Ginny warmly extending her hand for Charlotte to Shake Charlotte shook her hand she was confused why all of them had been so cold to her at first and then when harry introduced her they were so nice well then she thought you can't be to carful with the boy who lived. George and Fred sat down "who's the new meat?" Asked Fred and George together "this is Charlotte my old friend from muggle school" said harry cautiously Charlotte didn't know why but she would soon enough "ahh the all and famous Charlotte! So kind of you to join us we've a'waited your majesty's arrival for so very long!" They said finishing each other's statements then they stood and bowed to her harry blushed but his face was angry looking "honestly! cut it out!do you want to make a scene?" Said Hermione in a irritated tone of voice they sat down without another word Charlotte laughed. during the meal harry introduced almost all the gryfindors. She didn't know how she would remember all their names then once they had all agreed that Snape was the worst potion teacher Dumbledore could have hired, a boy with platinum blond hair shoved Harry's shoulder harshly "how's your miserable life potter" sneered the boy "Malfoy" said harry formally straightening his robes "answer me!" Said Malfoy yanking on Harry's ear "stop it" yelled Charlotte without thinking even at the muggle school she hadn't been able to control herself when harry was teased "who's this?" Malfoy smirked "I demand you let go of Harry's ear" said Charlotte standing "Charlotte Blacktree isn't it?" Said Malfoy letting go of Harry's ear after giving Harry's head a good shake "your friends with that muggle born Lydia aren't you?" He said he leaned over the table just centimeters away from her face his breath smelled of spear mint he had a sneer that was so perfect you could assume he practiced it in the mirror Charlotte swallowed loudly he chuckled and back away "you scared?" Said Malfoy "of what? You? Ha" said Charlotte Malfoy was surprised by her answer and so was she even though her voice had wavered "watch your back Blacktree" said Malfoy walking awAy with crabbe and goyle by his side then Charlotte sat down "better watch that mud blood friend of yours back too" he added "who was that?" Asked Charlotte as if nothing had happened out of the ordinary then she noticed the surprised and astounded looks around her "what?" She asked then nervously laughed "that was Draco Malfoy the meanest slytherin of them all" said Ginny in a voice of was it approval of the act of true friendship Charlotte had just done? "if they have a king it's definitely him" said Ron after everyone agreed,they told Charlotte how Draco and his goons had tormented them since first year then they told her about some other "important" slytherins she might have a run in with including Crabbe, Goyle, Blaise, and Pansy after that they rushed off to their classes. In potions class harry Ron and Hermione sat next to her they were brewing a difficult potion today Charlotte was the first to finish "your using the wrong type of bat wing" pointed out Charlotte to Hermione "I don't think I am" said Hermione defensively "I believe you are please take my advice and use this kind" said Charlotte handing her the vampire bat wing "ok but if anything happens to this potion it's your fault" said Hermione unsure at the end Snape said their potions were the most "creditable" and gave them a nod of approval. later walking in the hallway Hermione asked "how did you know that tip about using the vampire bat wing?" "I used to go to beauxbatons before I transferred I took advanced classes in potions there" said Charlotte in a longing tone she missed her sister but the holidays were on there way and she would see her soon enough.
