"Spooky!"
Oscar looked up from his blunt at the all-too familiar honeyed voice. He knew who was there, but he couldn't help but groan internally when he saw her. "What are you doing here, Sofia?"
Sofia wore a gold chain, fresh kicks, black sweats, and an over-sized black shirt that was tied at the back to look cropped. Oscar was pretty sure that it was one of his shirts that she had stolen. Her curly hair was freshly cut and it looked as if the only makeup she was wearing was her lip gloss, which looked heavy on her already plump lips.
He knew better than to entertain her, but she was looking so pretty, not at all the mess she had been when they had broken up. "Please just tell me what you want." He looked around him. The other Santos had already left his side, so he was by himself. They had hated Sofia and still did.
"That's no way to talk to a lady. You know better, Spooky."
"Sofia, you're far from a lady."
She pouted, still trying the innocent look. "Fine, if you want to be like that. Spooky, you didn't call or text me for two months, so I wanted to check in. See how you were doing." She leaned closer, giving him a clear view of the bare chest under her shirt. "And maybe we could have some of that amazing sex."
Oscar bit his lip. "I thought not talking to you for two months meant I didn't want to fuck with you anymore, but I guess it meant something else in your vocabulary."
"Spooky, come on. What happened? At least talk to me. You can't shut me out, it's not fair."
He opened his mouth but quickly closed it. "Now's not a good time, Sofia. Just go home, okay? I have some other business to attend to."
"No. I won't leave until you explain." She wasn't going to give up anytime soon. "Seriously, Spooky-hold up, who the fuck is this chick?" Sofia asked him, turning to face Maxine, who looked very confused.
"Hi, Max," Oscar said.
"Oh, so you've got a lil' nickname for her, huh, Spooky?"
"Hey. Wait, Oscar, who's this?"
"Aw, you call him Oscar and he calls you Max. How sweet, you lovebirds," Oscar's angry ex spat. Sofia's pretty face was becoming angrier with every passing moment.
"Maxine, this is Sofia, my ex-girlfriend. Sofia, this is Maxine." He cringed when he looked at Sofia.
"Nice to meet you," Maxine smiled politely at Sofia, who just sneered at her.
"Nice to meet you too, Max. What's she, your new hoe? Isn't she a little too young to be fucking you, Spooky? I didn't know ten year olds were your new type."
Maxine looked at her sneakers and hugged her sweater closer to her body.
Before Oscar could say anything, she continued on, smirking. "What do you see in her? She's a fucking princess," Sofia added, gesturing to Maxine's outfit, which consisted of a white hoodie and beige checkered skirt.
"You don't have the right to talk to her like that." Oscar's voice was firm.
"But-"
"And you need to go. Now. We can catch up some other time. Leave."
LATER
When Oscar heard the doorbell ring, he knew it was Sofia, ready to talk. He cursed under his breath, then opened the door, preparing for disaster. She had changed into a lacy black bralette, grey sweatpants, and a different pair of fresh white shoes.
"Heyyy, Spooky." Sofia walked in and made herself comfy on the couch, taking off her shoes. Oscar observed a new pedicure and a toe ring. She had gone all out. He couldn't help but trail his eyes up her body, wondering what else was new.
"Did you get nipple piercings?" He asked incredulously.
"Duh," Sofia giggled. "I also got a belly button piercing. Do you want me to show you?" Without wasting any time, she pulled off her bralette.
AT THE SAME TIME
"Nova, I can't compare to this girl! The only thing I have that's better than her is my personality. But I'm not sure even that's enough for Oscar." Maxine frowned worriedly into her phone camera, where Nova was watching her from.
"What's her name again?"
"Sofia. She's really pretty and sexy, Nova. I can't beat her."
"She's Spooky's ex. I'm pretty sure they broke up for a reason."
"I guess." Maxine chewed her lip.
Nova sighed. "Is she a bitch? Or is she just unfriendly?"
"I don't want to talk shit about her, but-"
"Maxine, every time you start a sentence like that, you always end up talking shit. Why do you even say that anymore? Just pick that girl apart!"
Maxine giggled. "I'm not doing that, but she's a bitch! I'm sorry, but she is! I was trying to be nice to her and she totally hated me! She yelled at Oscar when he said hi to me, made fun of me for calling him Oscar, and when Oscar introduced me to her she called me a hoe and said I was too young to be fucking him. That I was a ten year old princess. All because I'm not thick like her."
"And you didn't beat her up on the spot?! Maldito! Maxie, I know you're nice and shit, but come on! That puta deserved a punch in the fucking titty. I swear to God, if you don't beat her ass up anytime soon, I will. Do you want me to pull up with my bat? I'll do it if you want me to."
"I swear, you're crazy. And no, don't do that. Oscar will probably get mad at me if you do."
"That better be the only reason that you're holding back, Maxie. You should stand up for yourself. You don't deserve none of her shit, 'kay?"
How do you guys feel about Sofia and how do you think she might impact Maxine? I hated writing this but I had to throw some obstacles into their relationship haha...wondering if she sounds too clingy?
