12 grimmauld place, summer 1995
harry's pov
for merlin's sake, if mrs. weasley makes me clean another inch of this dusty ancient house, i may just go back to the dursleys', well maybe not.
"harry dear," mrs. weasley's call was heard throughout the house," we are not finished cleaning."
great, was all i could think before ducking into the first room i came across. closing the door slowly, trying my hardest to not make any noise, i backed into the room. which had a completely different interior to the rest of the rooms in the house, until reaching the very old mattress. after looking around the room, viewing many motorcycle posters and posters of gorgeous half naked muggle women plastered onto the red and gold walls, i realized this must have been sirius' childhood, if you could call it that, room. deciding to look a bit more, i realized many moving pictures of teenages. i walked over to the first, which was clearly on the quidditch pitch, of five seemingly overjoyed teenagers, four boys and one girl. two of the boys and the girl, dripping wet and muddy from the rain that was clearly evident in the photograph, and the other two boys just drenched. the girl was holding the quidditch trophy, i had recognized this from the four times i've seen it awarded in my time at hogwarts, and the boys all reaching for it, but only one could reach, as the girl was the second tallest in the group, only behind one of the boys not wearing a uniform. i flipped the fram over to reveal writing on the back of the photo,
we won finally! only took you five years. -moony
we only won due to my impeciable goal scoring skills -prongs
you spelled impeccable wrong, and if i hadn't caught the snitch, your "goal scoring skills" wouldn't have mattered. -vixen
i should have let that bludger hit you -padfoot
guys, it just matters that we beat slytherin. -wormtail
then i saw an inscription on the actual frame
you lost this picture and i thought you guys would want to remember this moment forever. - lily
i turned the frame back to reveal the photo, and took a guess on who was who. the tallest one must have been professor lupin, then the one with the jersey and shoulder length hair was sirius, then the other guy with the jersey must have been my dad. i wonder who the girl is
"harry!" oh shit , i thought, mrs. weasley, i put the frame back down and ran back to the kitchen, where everyone else was gathered.
"now where had you gone off to?" she questioned.
"i was just lost, went in the wrong door," i said, not completely lying.
"yeah right," i heard a scoff from my best friend, ron.
"well dear, we are just about to have lunch," mrs. weasley continues, ignoring her youngest son, who had recently been named one of gryffindor's prefects.
after lunch i went to the sitting room where professor lupin and sirius were laughing.
"harry!" sirius said, before taking a sip of the dark drink in his glass, "how are you settling in?" he asked.
"well, i guess," i respond quickly, dying to ask him about the picture.
"good," he responded.
"actually, i was exploring, well more like hiding from mrs. weasley," i began only to be interrupted by remus.
"ah molly has been trying very hard to revamp this dump."
"hey, this is my dump moony, would you like me to offend your home?" sirius asked, standing up a bit tipsy.
"you could care less about this place and we both know that," rebutted remus.
"oh yes," he said sitting back down in the large, black leather armchair.
"well i landed in a room, which seemed to have once been yours," i say, my voice getting softer as i reached the end of the sentence, preparing to be scolded for going into his room.
"and?" was all he asked, not really caring.
"well, i found this picture that puzzled me," i started again.
"was it the one of the girl on the motorcycle?" he asked.
"no, what? no," i stammered, now uncomfortable," it was of what seemed to be you guys and a girl."
"ah, yes. of course," remus said.
"vixen, the only girl a hogwarts that was taller than me and continued to prove this by wearing heels every day," he said, putting quite the emphasis on every.
"and your soulmate," remus added on.
"what?" i asked, slightly confused.
"remus always said that vindemiatrix and i were soulmate, not in a sexual relationship way," ew, just what i wanted to hear about, my godfather's sex life "but more platonic, we shared everything from clothes, to our flat, to our soul as remus said." explained sirius.
"that still doesn't make sense," i said.
"well, basically," remus began." well let me just start from the beginning."
