I've managed to set a few basic animal traps, not really expecting to catch anything today. After such, I set off to find materials.
"Broom, spoon, blanket. Maybe I should make actual dishes as well, like plates and bowls if I have time... And forks, and cups..." I count on my fingers as the sun comes nearly a quarter up the sky. "Alright, well I've got nearly three more quarters of light left before I have to head back, let's just get as much done as possible," I look up towards the sun before spotting the perfect tree branch for a broom.
A smile forms on my face as I climb up the tree and start chopping away at that branch. Only about twenty minutes goes by before it falls to the ground with a heavy sound. Jumping down, I cut off all the smaller twigs right down to the tip. Then, I cut the branch itself to a comfortable size and pick up all the twigs I cut off. To make the bristle part, I just tie all the twigs and a bunch of longer plant stems together at the end of my branch and it turns out to look like a decent broom.
"Nice!" I lean it against a tree and take a good look around. There's nothing really here to make a blanket out of. All the leaves are too small to sew together or anything, grass would be itchy and I wouldn't get any sleep like that. I guess another freezing night will have to be endured before we can try to scavenge one on tomorrow's journey...
Picking up some of the scraps from the parts of the branch I had to take off, I find a tree close by to sit up against and begin carving eatery utensils out of them.

My first carving was the spoon and believe it or not, that was the easiest. It took about two hours to complete. I managed to make it smoother by rubbing it up against a rock, caveman style. The forks, well they were tough, they only have two prongs each but that's better than eating off my knife or something. The plates turned out harder than I thought, getting the wood was the hardest part. I had to find an extremely thick branch, cutting it down took me maybe an hour and a half...then I had to cut that thick branch into discs, I only made two. Shaping the plates themselves was rather easy, took me about an hour each and they turned out curved enough to actually function as bowls as well so win, win!
After gathering all my new toys, I head back to the house and quickly slip in through the back door. To my surprise, Rune is awake already and is actually inspecting the plants. As the door closes behind me and I set my pack down, he looks over at me.
"What is that thing?" He eyes the broom, pointing his finger at it.
"It's a broom, that way we aren't sleeping in dirt. This place is a mess," I raise a brown, placing a hand on my hip.
"Broom, you look like a servant," he comments as his eyes flash up to my long braided hair, sheet of fabric functioning as a bandana on my head, and my rolled up pants.
"If the servants looked homeless maybe..." I give a slight tilt of my head, agreeing with him. I've, admittedly, looked better. He gives a slight chuckle before continuing his focus back to the plants. "Ah yes, I've also made some other stuff you might appreciate," I pull out the spoon, forks, and plate bowls as I step over to the table and lay them down for him to see.
"Nice," he inspects as he comes over.
"I figured maybe paint lids weren't the best things to be eating off of, even though they are clean. Plus, wood has this nice smell about it anyways," I hold up a plate and sniff it, a nice musk seeps into my nose.
"You're quite strange," he openly notes before picking the other one up and discreetly bringing it his nose himself. After, he gives an agreeable expression and sets it back down. I set mine down and head over to the back wall bench.
