When I wake up, I begin to work on breakfast. However, as I get back near the stove after picking a bunch of fruits, I'm startled by John walking in through the side door.
"John! Scared me! You're up early," I continue working on breakfast as he apologizes.
"Sorry, I just wanted to get into making this sword as soon as I could. What's for breakfast?" He wipes his forehead on an old rag before shoving the rag back into his back pocket.
"Just some fruit today. Have you checked on the freezer?" I ask as I wash off some fruit.
"It was ready when I got up so I put all the meat in there already, should be almost frozen by now. I'll be outside working on this sword if you need me," he heads back outside just before Maddie accompanies me.
"Hey," she saunters over to me.
"Morning," I hold a raspberry up to her. She takes it and slips it between her lips.
"They're sweeter now," she mumbles before heading into the garden. "Have you gone through everything already?" She asks from inside the garden.
"No, I was only looking for fruits," I continue plucking the stems off of various fruits and berries. After a little while, she returns with an armful of other vegetables and whatnot.
"I'll go check on the goats," she sets the vegetables on one of the tables and heads outside.
After a little while, Maddie returns and Sandra accompanies us. A little after that, Rune saunters in without me even waking him. Spotting us girls all chatting at the table and enjoying some fruit, he takes a seat next to me and has some himself. Eventually, John comes back in and joins us for a little while before both guys head outside.
"Well then," Sandra begins on washing the dishes.
"I think I'm going to go check the freezer," I saunter off into the garage to hear the freezers low hum of energy. Opening it up, the cold air hits me right in the face, the meat almost all frozen.
Heading back into the kitchen area, I wrap a few vegetables, including zucchini, tomatoes, carrots, and cucumbers all in plastic wrap and plastic bags. After stashing them in the freezer until it's almost not able to close, I head out to see how John fairs on his unique sword.
"Oh wow," I'm greeted by a long blade. There's no handle on it yet and it doesn't look like it's really been sharpened yet, however the overall shape of it is already sculpted out. "What are these rings that you're putting on?"
"Steel, they're not too hard to find really, any garage or hunting and supply store could have them, I think," John holds the blade up and inspects it. "I'll need a grinder to sharpen it. Where did you say you found all this?" He looks to both Rune and I. Rune looks up from something he's working on, quickly stashing it out of view.
"Actually, where we dropped off that guy the other day," Rune cuts in, holding his hand out for the blade. John hands it over for Rune to test out the weight. "A bit heavy but once you sharpen it, I'm sure it'll be a bit lighter," he tests the weight in each hand and then together, in both.
"I'm hoping. I'll also need to find materials for the handle, but I could make that out of just about anything. It's the rings that will be the biggest issue," John scratches his chin for a moment before Rune hands the blade back to him.
"Well, you've still got at least half a day. Why don't you guys go take a ride out there to find whatever else you need?" I give a little shrug before leaning on one leg with a hand on my hip.
"I think we will, how 'bout it?" John asks Rune with a similar posture to my own.
"Alright," Rune nods as I slowly make my way towards the goats.
