Y/n was walking around town, fidgeting with her blade, when she came across the sound of crying. She followed the sound and saw a greaser boy sitting on a mattress, sobbing. "What's wrong?" She asked.

She went and sat by the boy. He had a red cheek and a small cut. His eyes looked sadder than any eyes she's ever seen. "What happened?" She asked, grazing his cheek.

He looked shocked for a moment but then replied, "M-my mom. She slapped me then she... uh... well then she threw a broken beer bottle at me."

"Oh my gosh... I'm so sorry." She replied.

"I'm Y/n, by the way..." She said softly.

She tried looking him in the eyes but he just looked away at his shoes. "I'm Johnny." He replied.

"Nice to meet you." She gave him a warm smile.

It made Johnny feel good. It even made him feel safe. "Nice to meet you, too." He wiped his eye and gave Y/n a soft smile.

"Y'know, Johnny, you're pretty cute. You been picked up yet?" She asked.

"N-no..." He said, nervously.

He thought she was too cute to be saying something like this. "Good. Wanna go get some shakes?" She asked him.

He nodded and they took off to The Dingo. She bought two vanilla shakes and Johnny gulped his down like it was the last meal of his life. "Johnny... It's not goin' no where..." She smiled at him.

"I haven't eaten since breakfast yesterday." He replied.

That was actually a pretty long time considering it was 3:00 pm. They finished their milkshakes and went on a walk to the park. "Hey, Johnny. How ld are you?" She asked.

"16. You?" He replied.

"16." She smiled.

"Y'know, you could always stay with me when things get too rough. I don't want you out in that cold lot, Johnnycakes." She replied, remembering he had mentioned his friends calling him that nickname.

He smiled, hopefully. "Ok." He said.

They continued walking and talking for two more hours. "Johnny it's gettin' kinda late... I'm gonna get going," Y/n said.

She started walking away. Johnny had an urge to stop her, but he was really nervous. He inhaled and let out a deep sigh as if to prepare for something. "Hey, Y/n..." He called.

She turned around from across the street. "What's up?" She yelled back.

"Maybe we could... go out sometime?" He said.

She chuckled and let out a puff of smoke from her cigarette. "Sure."

He felt relieved and happy. "How about tomorrow at noon... Meet me at the lot?" He asked.

"See you then." She replied.

And with that, she walked off. Johnny watched her until he couldn't see her anymore. She reminded him of Dally.

~Time skip to noon the next day~
Johnny got dally to fix his hair up for him. He wore his jeans, a navy blue under shirt, and a jean jacket. He sat in the lot, fiddling with his switch. Y/n showed up in light grey, bell bottom jeans and a blue shirt just like his, tucked into her pants. "You mess with your blade, too?" She laughs.

He jumps a bit. "Yeah..."

He stood up and put his blade in his back pocket. He noticed her lip gloss and that her hair was down. She got dressed up for me... He thought. "You... uh... You look nice with your hair down..." He said, nervous.

She giggled a bit. "Thanks, Johnnycakes. Where we goin' anyways?" She asked.

"The Dingo, just like yesterday where you first took me." He said.

She smiled. "Let's go." She said.

They sat in a booth and ordered two shakes and fries. They talked A LOT. Johnny found out Y/n lived with her father who mentally abused her. Y/n found out Johnny was in a gang. Well, a "gang" because he explained it as more of a friend group. "Y'know Dallas Winston?" He asked.

She swallowed a big gulp of milkshake. "Who doesn't?" She mischeviously smiled.

"He's like a brother to me... You kinda remind me of him." He said quietly, looking at his fries.

"So I'm like your sister?" She asked.

"No! I mean, uh, no. I- well I..." Johnny started.

"Spit it out Johnny." She giggled.

He looked up at her. "Y/n I really like you... And you probably don't like me back and that's ok..." He said.

She smiled. "Johnny, stop rambling on! I really like you, too." She replied.

His jaw dropped a bit. They sat next to each other in the booth so she gently put her index finger underneath his chin, making him look at her. His eyes were kinda wide, she could tell he was nervous. Without wasting another second, she kissed him passionately for 3 seconds, then pulled away and smirked. "Y/n... Would you- well... Would you, uh... be mine?" He asked

She smiled and laughed a bit. "Of course, Johnnycakes!"
