When those eyes met mine again
I got drowned in the ocean of thoughts,
Our gazes felt meaningful yet empty
And we talked to our friends together
as if we were not strangers to each other now.
Seconds have passed then hours
Barely uttering a word, staring at one another,
For a moment, I come to ask myself
How did we turn out like this?
I caught you staring at me again
With the same eyes when you first said you love me,
But I couldn't just understand
Since I know your heart no longer belongs to me.
All this time, I just wanted to know
How have you been?
But if you happen to ask me back, this is what I should have said then,
"Without you, I felt missing."
So before I get lost and be a fool again
Before I come running back to you
Before I could no longer contain my longing for you
I should turn my back and walk away.
