^Delilah's PoV^

{The Next Day}

Morning came quickly and I knew today would be tough, we were heading into the local village. We had schools to be fixing and me and Georgie were tasked with setting up a temporary medical centre in the village.

All I could think about however, was Frankie. It was weird, this feeling that had manifested in my chest, I knew I'd liked him. For quite some time, even Georgie had urged me to ask him out, and I knew that this was the case vice versa. I just didn't have the guts, I didn't know if I could love someone when my heart was still shattered.

Frankie seemed to have understood though, he was always there for me, he took me on days out, we'd have dinner and talk endlessly about so many things. I just couldn't bear to let him down, I knew that I was a handful, I was broken and my head was a mess and I didn't want to drag Frankie into that, not at all.

But last night..oh my stars last night had been perfect, the way he held me, his lips finally touching my own. I'd laid in bed for an hour or so last night, just replaying the events, my fingers absentmindedly grazing my lips. That was until Maisie threw her book at me and told me to stop imagining shagging Fingers. I'd simply tossed her book back and called her a cockwomble, a personal favourite insult of mine that Charlie used all the time.

It was 6:33am and we were leaving at 7:30, and me and Georgie were just leaving the tent to go check all of the medical supplies. Meanwhile, at the truck the lads and Maisie were packing up certain materials such as iron bars and corrugated iron. All for schools.

I saw Frankie and grinned like an idiot at him when he waved. I waved back and blew him a kiss.

Georgie then took me by the collar and dragged me to where the medical supplies were awaiting loading.

"So, you and Fingers?" Georgie asked as she handed me a clipboard, which I began filling in avoiding her gaze.

"Yeah, I mean maybe, I don't know..we sort of kissed last night, but I mean we're on tour, I can't start a relationship on tour. He promised to take me to dinner after we finish here though." I said smiling to myself as I went through the bandages one by one.

"I'm happy for you Delilah, just remember full focus has to be on your job, not him. Your down time can be spent swooning but when you're out there you need to have full focus, nothing else matters okay?" Georgie spoke from experience, I could hear it in her voice.

I nodded and once I'd checked over half of the equipment I stopped and grabbed a crate of water bottles.

"I'll be back in a minute, I'm just off to hand these out to the lads, and Maisie." I said to Georgie and she nodded smiling at me.

I walked over to where the truck was and saw that Fingers was absent, I glanced around and saw him speaking with Charlie off by the med tent.

I furrowed my brow but thought nothing of it.

I passed around water and everyone thanked me, I walked over to Kingy, and held out 2 bottles.

"One for Frankie, is everything okay, why is he talking to the boss?" I asked, shielding my eyes from the sun.

"Because he can't stop talking about you, Monks already pushed him off the truck, and the boss thinks he'll jeopardise the mission if he's more focused on you." Kingy said softly, I knew there was no hatred intended in the remark. In fact he looked kind of happy and he gave me a warm smile.
