Ch.1

*Madi's POV*
It was another normal boring day at the orphanage doing our chores and just trying to be happy with what we have. And what I have is my sister Ashley. I'm so happy to still have a piece of my family with me. Well for now...We have been here for as long as I can remember. But we try to keep going with our lives. By the way did I mention Ashley and I are twins? We look nothing alike though.

"Madi,it's time for lunch" I snapped out of my thoughts as my sister spoke.

I smiled slightly and said " I'm coming." We walked into the huge cafeteria with the rest of the girls in the orphanage. Nothing new ever happens around here. We grabbed our trays and got our food for the day before we sat down to eat.
" what chores did you get today?" Ash asked as she took a bite of her apple.
" I had to wash the windows." I shrugged since it actually wasn't that bad.
" that's not fair! I had to wash the stupid toilets why did I have to do that?!?" She whined as I giggled and ate some rice. She laughed as she smudged some smashed potatoes on my face and smirked.
" ugh, you're so immature Ash." I said whipping it off my face as I flicked a pea at her face.
" eww peas!! You know I hate them!" She laughed as we continued our mini food fight.

"MADISON AND ASHLEY REPORT TO THE OFFICE!" The speaker boomed and we quickly cleaned up ourselves and the table.

*Ash's POV*
I hope we aren't in trouble because of the food. If we do I'm going to take full responsibility since I did start it. We threw out our tray and walked to the office. I took Madi's hand. I was nervous,scared. We have never been called to the office before. As we walked in there was Martha the head of the orphanage along side a nice couple. I didn't let go of Madi's hand.
" Uh..hello..you called for us?" I asked my voice a little shacky
" yes please take a seat girls " Martha spoke signaling to the chairs. I nodded and we sat down.
" girls, today might be you're lucky day.." Martha spoke as the couple sitting down smiled. I was so confused what did she mean? Did we win the lottery?
" this couple here...are looking forward to adopting you" Martha spoke as madi and I looked at each other speechless and then at the couple. I could see tears in Madi's eyes which made me squeeze her hand a little. I could also feel my eyes tearing up as well.
" you two want to...adopt us both?" Madi asked the couple sitting down as the nodded yes. All these years we thought nobody wanted us..that the only way we were going to leave this place was when we would get kicked out at 18.
I smiled as tears of happiness rolled down my cheeks.
" Liz and Andrew have completed everything necessary to take you girls home today." Martha smiled slightly as Liz and Andrew stood up. I couldn't help but embrace them both in a hug which Madi joined.
" Thank you so much!" We said instantly. Liz smiled as tears filled her eyes.
" now girls go get your things we are going home" Andrew said before kissing our foreheads.

*Madi's POV*
As soon as those words left Andrews mouth Ash and I both ran out that office and went to gather our stuff. We didn't have much except a picture of our parents and a few other items. We got our stuff and walked back into the office with huge smiles on our faces.
" we are ready" Ashley said so cheerfully with a huge smile on her face. After so many years we will finally be able to see the outside world.
" let's go girls" Liz said as we walked out the office and down the hall.
" it's time to go home" Liz and Andrew said as they opened the two front orphanage doors as Ash and I took our first steps out of the building. The doors slowly closed shut.
This was a start of a new life, with our new parents Liz and Andrew Hemmings.
