JUNGKOOK POV
It was getting pretty late and Taehyung announced that he had to leave. "Guys, I've got to go. My assignment is due tomorrow so I should at least try to catch some sleep."
"Oh, I just realized what time it is. You should certainly get going. Jungkook, drop him off at his place, will you?" Jimin said.
Taehyung immediately retorted, "oh no no, please don't go through that trouble. I can get home by myself."
"Don't even think about it Taehyung Hyung. I'll drop you, its no issue. Its really dark outside and I would like to make sure that you're home safe," I said.
I noticed Taehyung's cheeks bloom red as I said that. He nodded giving his approval and I went to my room to get my keys. Yoongi was going to stay the night at our place. I'm sure Jimin and he had something naughty planned and I didn't really want to stick around. After finding my keys in my extreme mess of a room, I went to start the car, vowing to clean my room when I got back.
As I stepped outside, I saw Taehyung putting on his coat. He was very adorable if I was being honest with myself. His beautiful hair sat as fluffy as a cloud over his head, and the little mole by his lip had me cooing. His features were sharp enough to cut glass but his behavior was the exact opposite. He also wore extremely quirky clothes but he pulled it off really well, I have no idea how. I mean if I went around wearing what he was wearing, people would throw coins at me but somehow, he looked like a model.
"Hey, ready to go?" I asked Taehyung.
"Yes, let's go," he replied with a caramel sweet smile.
I walked him to my car and opened the door for him. He blushed so cutely when he saw my chivalrous gesture and muttered a thank you, barely audible but still hanging in the air. I got into the driver's seat and asked him to navigate the route for me.
"So, do you stay in the dorms or do you have a flat?" I asked, to make light conversation.
"I have a flat of my own. It's a studio apartment actually so I live on my own," he replied.
"Oh, that must be fun. So do you play any instruments other than the keyboard?" I asked, continuing the flow of the conversation because I liked to listen to his deep voice. He had a beautiful voice and if I got closer to him, I might ask him to sing someday.
"Oh yes, I play the guitar and the saxophone as well," he said, a gleam in his eye when it came to talking about music.
"Saxophone, that's an instrument I don't hear a lot about. How come you learned to play it?" I asked, genuine curiosity sparking in me.
"I'm a huge lover of jazz music actually. Like huge. And the music the saxophone can create, oh it's so beautiful! I knew even as a teenager that I wanted to learn the saxophone so I could create my own jazz pieces someday. Its why I'm learning to play the keyboard. I would like to move on from there to the piano and open my own jazz bar where I play music I compose," he rambled. It was beautiful to see him talk about music with such passion. His eyes actually lit up and his smile got wider as he spoke. He seemed to realize that he was rambling though so he stopped right after that, adding one last thing, "I know it all sounds crazy," chuckling nervously.
"Well, nothing about it sounded crazy to me. You are an extremely talented musician, it was amply clear from today. So no, it's not crazy. I think if you focus and work hard towards your goal, nothing can stop you. You've got the talent for it," I said, concentrating on the road but looking over at him towards the end to catch the sheepish smile that formed on his face.
"Thanks, Jungkook. What about you? What do you want to be?" Taehyung asked me.
"Well, funnily enough, I want to be a singer. I want to be as beautiful a singer as Frank Sinatra, Adele, or Elvis Presley," I answered truthfully.
"In that case, I would like to hear you sing someday," Taehyung said with a beautiful smile plastered on his face.
"Of course, only under the agreement that you play the saxophone for me," I added coyly. I saw Taehyung nod slightly from the corner of my eye and then he pointed towards his apartment building. Apparently we had reached. It was odd but I wanted him to stay in the car and continue talking to me. I never clicked so easily with people but the conversation just flowed with him. I didn't once tense up about what I should say to him next or what I should do if an awkward silence arises.
I looked towards him and saw that the moon had cast beautiful shadows on his face. He looked absolutely mesmerizing, like a sculpture almost. I had an odd urge to brush away the hair falling on his face. His gaze was trained on me as well. I was aware that he fancied me too, the constant blushes and staring were a dead giveaway but I didn't want him to be like some of my other one night stands. He was special, a soul to be protected at all costs.
Nevertheless, I just could not resist the urge to reach out and touch him so I raised my hand slowly, awaiting his reaction. When he didn't recoil or lean away, I let my hand touch his face. A burst of electricity shot through my fingers. Like, I genuinely felt a buzz. My breaths became quicker as he leaned his head in my hand and slightly closed his eyes. I hadn't felt a rush like this in a long long time and I wanted to savor every second of it. Just as I was about to brush my fingers through his hair, my ringtone boomed through the car. Taehyung opened his eyes as if thrown out of his trance as I reached for the phone in my pocket.
".....yes Jimin, I'll pick up some painkillers for you. And no, I don't want to know why you need them. I'll be home soon. Bye," I said as I hung up. Taehyung cracked a smile as he caught a gist of what my conversation was about.
"So umm...I should get going. It was nice to meet you Jungkook," Taehyung said with the purest smile on his face.
"Nice to meet you too Hyung," I said, trying not to let my smile falter at the thought of maybe never meeting him again. He cracked open the car door and stepped one foot outside but as if on an afterthought, he turned back to me.
"Jungkook, would you like to exchange numbers? I liked hanging out with you today."
I breathed a sigh of relief, glad that he had asked me. He handed me his phone and I fed my number into it as he did the same for my phone. This time he actually stepped out of the car.
"Goodnight Hyung," I said, wanting to see his face one last time before I left.
"Just call me Tae," he said, leaning in through the window, his warm gaze on mine before he left to enter his apartment.
Mhmmm...things are heating up. The story won't be so fluffy anymore but the twists will be very exciting. Please do vote, comment and continue reading :)
