Are You For Reel? (A Short Story)

I was confused with what Win said. I didn't get it. I tried to puzzle what he was referring to, but I couldn't. And so I chatted him.

"What did you mean by that was the ad lib?"

He's seen it but didn't respond. I tried calling him, but he didn't answer. Then he texted.

"Don't call me yet. Figure it out yourself, and once you've got it all figured out, I'll tell you something."

While I was taking a shower, I was thinking about it.
While I was preparing food to eat, I was thinking about it.
While I was laying in bed, I was thinking about it.

And then I suddenly remembered our director saying Win made an ad lib during the scene where Sarawat admitted his love for Tine.

I immediately looked at the script.

"From the day you disappeared, my life was never the same.
Whatever I did, or wherever I went, you were always there.
Will you take responsibility for this?"

He added, "Even in my dreams, you were there teasing me."

So I was always in his dreams, until now. My heart didn't know what to feel as the message wasn't clear. I tried calling him because I wanted to tell him I figured it out but he wasn't answering, but I didn't want to text him about it. I want us to talk about it in front of each other. I'll just wait tomorrow.

The next day, I arrived at the set just on time for everything. Win was already there as well, but I couldn't talk to him as I needed to get my hair and make up done. There were just 5 minutes left when we both became available to talk.

I told him, "I know what you meant by what you said."

"Really?"

"Yes. You always dream about me."

"Correct. That's why I added that in my line. You know why?"

"Why?"

"Because I want you to know that my lines and my thoughts aren't really different from each other.

I like you. Well, I started liking you, but I thought that maybe I like Sarawat. That's why I wanted to know you, and after that night at the bar, I know it's you I like. I like you, Bright."

I was surprised. All this time, I thought I was the one running after him. But really, he was the one trying to go after me.  I didn't know he was this brave. Makes me like him even more.

"You know what, Win? I'm happy. I'm really happy you said that. I like y-"

"Guys, let's start filming. Everyone ready?", the director shouted.

Everyone pulled us apart to put us in our location and I just looked at him, and he just looked at me. In that moment, we know we are connected.

"Quiet on the set.", the director shouted again.

I smiled.

"2"

He smiled.

"1"

This time, we both know it's real.

"Action!"
