I only like my Calamari deep fried

Tony did not appreciate the portal. As he was pushed, pulled, and stretched through a seizure inducing Willy Wonkaesque tunnel, he couldn't help but think of his past: his original sacrifice in space, fighting and losing to a giant space grape, being trapped in space again (this time with a medium sized space blueberry), and the portals that actually helped in his final battle- before, of course, his demise. So as the two spiderlings whooped and hollered their way through, he shuddered within the iron spider.

The landing hit hard, knocking the wind out of him for the first time since he'd began breathing again. Not pleasant. Taking in his surroundings, he noticed that they'd arrived... in New York again. Really? Tony had expected other dimensions to have something a bit more out there like flying cars (where were those in his dimension Dad?) or a decent coffee venue. This place didn't seem too different, it had the blinding lights, puffy smoke emitting from sewers, and the screams of several aggravated taxi drivers. He then saw a big neon sign advertising Coca-Pepsi soda. Oh yeah, he wasn't in Kansas anymore.

"Come on guys!!" Miles jumped on the balls of his feet in anticipation. The smallest spider never stopped moving, his body vibrating as he hummed some inane pop song under his breath. Tony really had to introduce these guys to AC/DC (on the one time he had tried before his demise, Peter kept mistakenly labeling them Led Zeppelin until he was forced to give up).

Miles ran straight off the roof, his plummet prevented by a timely web sticking to a building to their left. Using all of his body weight, he pushed and pulled his way through the air. On occasion, he lost momentum, kicking his feet for a boost as he dangled above the city.

"Not as graceful as you, eh Pete?" He glanced over to see... not Spider-Man.  Peter was now clad in a black uniform with a similar build to his typical red and blue onesie. The only splashes of color were the white eyepieces and the filthy gray sweatpants he unfortunately chose to keep. He appeared to be an emo Spider-Man.

"Why?" Tony gestured to Peter's outfit with a look of disgust, "Explain."

"Well, in this universe I'm dead, so now I'm the night monkey, which was another superhero that I was... after you died."

"Gee, that makes perfect sense. Why night monkey?"

"Blame Ned."

About to make another quip, Tony was interrupted by Miles, who screamed and waved his arms for them on top of a building a good three miles (heh) away.

"That's Doc Ock's lab. Damn!" Peter muttered. He was really tired of this lady, especially after their rather awkward encounter during the laptop heist. While he often stopped by, she was not the reason he'd traveled to another dimension.

Tony felt confused. First there was a strange time-space hole. Then there was "night monkey" and now octopi could be doctors? Had he been dead for twenty years or two hundred? And why did the inside of the iron spider smell like a mixture of Old Spice and Chimichangas? He decided to give on logic and followed Peter to Miles.

"So how is Gwen involved?" Peter questioned. This was Miles' world and he was pretty sure they'd already done the whole spider-crossover thing.

"She was helping me on this fight, she glitched out and now Doc has her in her lab."

"Why is that?"

"Probably to experiment-"

"No, I mean why did you ask Gwen for help but not your Da-Mentor?!!!"

Miles shrugged and Peter cursed under his breath.

"Ok, we can handle this, we get in the vents again, you go left, Tony goes... where's Tony?"

The opening notes of Back in Black echoed from below them. Miles and Peter stared at each other in shock before dropping into the scene. There was the Iron Spider, dashing in circles as he faced off with the evil doctor. However, instead of webs the suit shot out flames.

"Isn't it great?" Tony's voice echoed, "Now it's the Iron and Fiery Spider!"

"Did you know it could do that?" Miles whispered.

"No, would've made quite a few missions easier."

Flames danced around the doctor, who utilized her robotic legs to approach Tony through the chaos.

"Three against one now? That's kinda cheating boys." Her leftmost leg flew out and grab the Iron Spider, hurling Tony through the wall into the night sky. Night Monkey screamed and ran,  meeting Tony's fate as Doc Ock repeated her previous move.

Miles shrugged, "I guess it's a strategy," he screamed and followed suite, gaining momentum (and electricity) as he neared the doctor. As she moved to throw him, he thrust his power outward, shocking the suit and causing it to crumble. Doc Ock fell into the flames and screamed, only to be swept out of harms way by a black clad vigilante.

"Night Monkey to the rescue again" Peter mumbled from inside his suit.

"Dang it guys! I didn't even get in my daily steps today!" Doc Ock swore as she dusted the ash off her once pristine lab coat. She reached for her fitness watch and pressed it, causing jet packs to emerge from her sides and eject her through the roof.

"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again, huh?" Peter joked. Miles rolled his eyes and Tony groaned, they must not have been used to their villains escaping.

"Whatever, let's just find Gwen."
