Petrov! I mentally screamed at the captain for letting my miracle's mother train. I expected basic, easy conditioning at most. Or dummy time. Not actual sparring with an opponent. Even if it was a cautious Castile in a mock fight.
Ugh! Could Alberta not see just how precious and rare my baby with Roza was? How precious, loved and vulnerable my- and Rose's- miracle mini-me was?
RPOV
I survived period one, didn't let Alto get to me in period two, and went easy in period three. Period four was when the novices started looking at me weirdly. The questions also started then.
"Rose? Why are you slacking? Thought you were better than that." Shane sneered when I entered, with Dimitri by my side.
"Mr Reyes, leave Rose alone." my man defended me.
"What's up, Belikov? You like her or something?"
"She's my partner, Reyes."
Shane's eyes bugged in disbelief at the admission. I just smiled goofily. I was totally lovesick and he was my baby's daddy, I wasn't going to be ashamed of finding my other half.
"B-but she's your student." Shane returned.
"She hasn't been since the day she turned eighteen." Dimitri evenly retorted.
"Why is she going easy?" Shane insisted and Ryan joined.
"Roza?" Dimitri asked, our eyes locking.
"Ugh. Fine. I shoulda known this wouldn't make it to the 'safe point'."
"I love you." He pecked my cheek before answering the guys. "She's pregnant with my child."
"Not possible!" they laughed. "You sure you're not covering Ivashkov's ass? We all know he's been in her pants."
"He has not!" I retorted. "I'm not easy."
"Far from it. You're hard to get, Roza, and don't I know it." was whispered in my ear.
"Hey! Speak for yourself, Comrade."
"What's going on here?" the teacher interrupted. Then took in the way Dimitri was protectively standing in front of me. "Oh!" A grin spread across the guardian's face. "Congratulations you two." He turned to Shane and Ryan, "leave Rose alone and don't challenge Belikov. You don't want to piss off the parents who are the most lethal of your time."
It was an order the novices couldn't refuse. So, they paled and left.
"You okay, miracle makers?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. How's Daddy?" I responded.
"I'm more worried about you, Roza." He turned to me with a face full of love, concern and support.
"I really am fine. We are. We love you, Daddy."
"I love you two too." I was pulled into his chest and he kissed my head. Any remaining tension I had no clue was there melted under his touch.
"You are clueless." I sighed into his chest.
"Ahem. Rose, you actually might want this lesson." the teacher interrupted again.
"I'm watching, my love." Dimitri commented, kissed my head again then let go of me.
Lissa'sPOV
"I still can't believe it," I said to Chris as we walked into fourth period together.
"Neither can I. I was so sure he wanted to be with Tasha."
"She looks like an older Moroi version of Rose, so was likely a distraction."
"Possibly. I wonder how she's going to react."
"She'll be fine."
"Hmmm. I have to wonder... You didn't hear how much she wants him, you didn't hear the plans she was making for them."
"Those two can look-after themselves. They are guardians, after all."
"Which guardians can look-after themselves?" Jesse rudely interrupted. How he hadn't been expelled I would never know.
"Rose and B-" I quickly caught myself, he was my brother-in-law, "Dimitri."
"That bloodwhore's a novice."
"She's not a bloodwhore- far from it." I replied.
"You're just jealous she's hard to get." Christian added. "Extremely hard to get since-" my boyfriend clearly wasn't sure if he should spill Rose's news. He effectively covered his tracks with, "she's Belikov's."
"You've got to be kidding, Ozera! Belikov fucking his student? Never."
"They're absolutely lovesick. Surely you saw them at breakfast?"
Class eventually began. Then lunch rolled around. Of course, both parents joined. Lunch quickly morphed into period five. Where Christian, Eddie and I all defended Rose and her Belikov baby.
