Hanta Sero x Reader: Confession

1801 words; A little warning, this is the first fanfiction that I've finished. I was initially going to finish a Bakugo x reader that I started a year ago, but I ended up just starting a newer one with a different character instead. Like, Sero is so underrated, like he's so cute, ack! Oh, by the way I tried to make this as gender-neutral as possible.

~2nd person POV~

*RING RING RING* 

You woke up to the sound of your phone ringing. As you groggily reached your hand across the bedside table to grab it, it stopped ringing. "Well fuck." You whispered as your eyes attempted to focus on the bright screen. Your phone still ghosted the feeling of vibrations as you opened up the call log to see that it was Ashido who called. You look up at the top corner of my screen, " Why the Hell is Mina calling me at three in the morning?" you questioned it out loud as if someone was in the room and would answer, but of course no one was there.

 You selected her name and put the phone up to your ear waiting for her to pick up. "(L/N)!!" she screeched into the phone the second she answered as you flinch and pull away a little bit, not expecting it. "Ashido what do you want? It's too early for this," you said with a bit of venom in your voice. "Sorry bby but I found out some news from the boys." she said excitedly. I could feel her wiggling her eyebrows from the other side of the line. Right, I forgot she was watching movies with the Baku-squad last night. I was supposed to be there too, but I couldn't because I needed the study time. "Yeah, what's up? What'd you find out?" You were genuinely curious. You hoped it was something about your crush, but you doubt it. Somehow you had fallen for one of the members of the Baku-squad. 

Hanta Sero. He was very plain-looking, black hair, black eyes, and tall. He wasn't particularly buff, but he wasn't weak either. But despite that, the boy had still managed to charm you. His big toothy grin was able to brighten your day, no matter what. You had a huge, hopeless, crush on him, but there was no way he'd like you back anyway so why would you even bother. Because of this you didn't tell anyone about it. "Well," Ashido said emphasizing the l's, snapping you out of your trance, "Someone... has a... crush on you!" she finally squeaked out. 

A soft, questioning, hm slipped through your lips. You were confused. You were confused. Why would someone like me? I had a shitty quirk, I wasn't the smartest, and I was extremely introverted. There are so many better people, in class 1-A alone! "(L/n)? Are you okay? You went quiet there." Ashido had a slightly teasing tone in her voice. "Y-yeah I'm okay. I'm just a little surprised that someone has a crush on m-me." Your voice wavered, "w-who is it?", you asked. You were almost afraid of the answer. 

"It's-" Ashido was cut off by the sound of knocking on your door. You checked the time on your phone, seeing that it was now four. At this time you would normally be getting up to go on a run and shower, but apparently, today had different plans. Sighing, you exchanged your goodbyes with Ashido and got up to answer the door. When you opened the door you were met with some guy's shoulders. You looked up to meet black eyes, it was Sero. 'shit' you thought, immediately feeling a faint blush creep up your cheeks. Thankfully it was dark, the only light being from your alarm clock inside your room and the moonlight seeping in from outside through the windows. 

"H-hey, what a-are you doing here?" You said as you rubbed your arm, your voice betraying you. "Uh, I assume you got a call from Ashido?" Your face erupted in a crimson red blush, rivaling Kirishima's hair. You could only nod in response. You were scared your voice would be even worse than it was before. As you started to get antsy and fidgeted with your pajamas you heard a deep sigh. "Oh great then she probably spilled my secret. I knew I shouldn't have told her. So... do, do you feel the same?" He asked as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
