"One more present Daddy please!" Paisley is right in front of her Dad, her hands clasped, bottom lip out.
"One per night," Josh holds up one finger as there's a knock at the door. "Avi can you get that?"
Avi hands Ada to Aleen as he gets up.
Paisley tries to dive around her Dad; he stops her with a monster growl, picking her up into a spin that makes her giggle, "Daddy!" She squeals. She gasps, "Kirstie!"
"Hi," the florist waves from the doorway.
Avi turns to Aleen, eyes wide, but Aleen just shrugs, she's not mad, she's got to get over that, and Christmas is the time of year for it.
"Paisley beelines for her, "What's that?" She points to the tote bag Kirstie's carrying that a present is sticking out from.
"Oh this," Kirstie glances at her bag, "Um, well-"
"Avi, let her in," Josh says, moving a little closer to the door.
Avi steps back then closes the door behind her.
"So I know you guys celebrate Hanukkah, but like still do presents, and I ended up not having to buy anything for Jeremy's niece and nephew. So I bought something for your girls, I hope that's okay?" Kirstie turns to Josh, her lip quirked at the side with worry.
Paisley squeals, hugging herself to Kirstie's legs.
"Um, sure," Josh's words are a little hesitant, but who is he to say no, it's a very kind thing for Kirstie to do.
Kirstie breaks into a smile, "Awesome." She places her bag on the floor to pry Paisley from her as kindly as possible.
Scarlett slowly inches her way forward, she'd quietly been standing in the kitchen doorway. She is curious and biting her thumbnail.
"Okey doke," Kirstie says in a sing song voice, "This one here is for Ada," she hands it to Aleen who still has one hand around the baby.
She reaches into her bag again, "This is Scarlett's. I didn't know if you were still into dolls or not, but I think you'll like this one nonetheless," she smiles, handing the gift to her.
"And me?" Paisley's face is glowing.
"Of course Fairy Princess, I couldn't forget you!" Kirstie crouched to the little red-heads level to give her her present.
Kirstie stands up to explain Ada's present as Josh helps to unwrap it, "I know she can't read yet, but the book was so cute, and who doesn't love fairy tales?" She gushes.
"Pooper scoop Barbie!" Paisley screams, tatters of paper all around her. "I always wanted a dog, now my Barbie's can have one that really poops!"
Kirstie smiles, "Perfect."
"Thank you, thank you!" Paisley hugs Kirstie tightly again, and doesn't let go of the Barbie box. "Ima name her Kirstie, cause she looks like you."
"Aww, that's so sweet, and you're welcome," she gives Paisley a quick little squeeze back.
"Okay now open it Dad," Paisley pulls back only to slam her toy into Josh.
"Ow," Josh says and takes the box, he doesn't get mad because how could he? Paisley's so happy.
"What did you get Scarlett?" Avi asks because she's been awfully quiet back there. Everyone turns to her and she holds up the doll box so they can see.
"Oh shit," Avi says, eyes wide.
Josh doesn't have the heart to tell him off for swearing because the happiness in Scarlett's eyes is everything. "Is that Becky Lynch?"
Kirstie nods, big grin on her face.
"I-It's Becky Lynch B-Barbie," Scarlett turns it back over in her hands to just stare at it in awe.
"How did you know?" Josh asks Kirstie.
"Dad! Open my Barbie," Paisley taps the box in his hands.
"Ahh," Kirstie exchanges a quick look with Avi who shakes his head rapidly. "Um, WWE was brought up during a convo with one of you when I was here... um, I saw the dolls and Becky looked the coolest, so, yeah," she shrugs. "Lucky guess."
Avi gives a slow nod of appreciation for her explanation.
"Well thank you, these are awesome gifts," Josh smiles. "Say thank you girls."
"Thank you," Paisley speaks hurriedly then back to her Dad. "Please on my Kirstie Barbie."
"See, I was waiting for a please," Josh chuckles as he starts to tear into the box.
"Thank you," Scarlett says to Kirstie as she walks up to her and hesitantly goes in for a hug that Kirstie happily gives.
"You're very welcome," Kirstie smiles.
"D-Do you want to see m-my other Becky stuff?"
Kirstie nods, "I'd love to."
Scarlett takes her hand and leads her up the stairs.
"Hey! Kirstie's my friend, not Scarlett's," Paisley pouts and tries to follow them, but Josh stops her with the freed pooping puppy.
"Actually, she's Uncle Avi's friend, and so you're very lucky she got you this present, spoilt aren't you?" Josh jokes.
"I wouldn't say she's my friend," Avi scoffs.
"Really?" Aleen asks, "Because if she's not then this is pretty weird," she points. "Super kind of her, but weird."
"Are you okay with me being her friend?" Avi asks sceptically.
"I'd be a pretty sh-," she stops herself, "I wouldn't be a very good girlfriend if I tried to dictate your friendships."
"You still feel bad about what your Dad did huh?" Josh asks.
Aleen purses her lips before answering, "That's not the point, yes, but it's not the point," she reiterates.
"But it's part of it?" Avi questions.
She nods, "So it's all good if you're friends with Kirstie, I'm not gonna let it bother me."
"Well that's awesome," Avi smiles....
"That's my Becky b-blanket. That's my Becky t-shirt, and th-that's my other Becky t-shirt th-that Quinn got me cause she l-left. And that's my Becky Lynch a-action figure," Scarlett points to her dresser.
"And I take it that's a Becky Lynch poster?" Kirstie asks a little teasingly, but in good fun.
"Yeah," Scarlett's smile lights up her face.
"Who's the little man figure?" Kirstie asks picking up the one next to Becky Lynch.
"Becky's the m-man," the frowns.
"Yes, but this one," Kirstie shows her.
"Oh Seth Rollins, he's Becky's b-boyfriend."
"Aw, cute," she places him back down beside Becky. "So you really love this stuff huh?" She looks over the items, noticing a couple of other posters too.
"Yeah."
"That's cool," she makes a mental note of the names on the other posters, they might come in handy. "It's funny how the little Seth doll looks kinda like your Uncle Avi aye?"
Scarlett nods, "Yeah, b-but Uncle Avi doesn't h-have muscles like Seth," she giggles.
Kirstie laughs too, "I suppose not."
"They're hairy b-both the same though," she scrunches up her face and this makes Kirstie laugh harder.
"You know I used to watch all this when I was little," Kirstie gestures to Scarlett's wall of posters. "But the girls weren't very good back then."
"Why don't you w-watch it anymore."
"I stopped in middle school after I got teased about my Triple H lunch-box. A bunch of girls told me it was stupid and I wanted to fit in so I started calling it stupid too. But my Abuelita never misses an episode, she loves her luchadores," Kirstie smiles.
"I don't l-listen to people who call it stupid," Scarlett tells her.
"Well you're stronger than I am, and that's awesome," Kirstie nods. "but you know I might have to get back into it, some of these guys are pretty good looking huh?" She points out a couple of the males on one of the posters on the wall.
Scarlett bursts out with giggles.
"I'm not joking! Look at him," Kirstie tells her with her jaw hanging as she lays a hand on the one poster featuring males, making Scarlett laugh harder. "Oh look at him!" Kirstie fans herself with her hand and Scarlett just keeps on laughing.
A/N: Is it a little weird for Kirstie to buy the girls gifts like she did? And what about Aleen finally giving Kirstie a chance?
I hope you enjoyed the chapter, sorry it was still a Christmas/Hanukkah chapter, the next one is new year's because I let myself get too far behind :P
Please vote and comment, it truly makes my day :)
