Linda had told them all about this man named Rob who she had fallen in love with five years back. She had kept him a secret to everyone because she thought other people may tell her she made the wrong choice. She even told the children about how they met. The two Karter girls had never seen their neighbor so happy in their life. The story about how they met was weird to Mallory.

Five years ago on a warm spring day Linda had finished grad school and was celebrating with her mom, dad and younger sisters, Lena and Lyla(which were twins). The day after she woke up super early. The whether was cool that morning and Linda thought that it would get warmer, so she wore a sleeveless shirt and shorts. She told her mom she would be home in an hour and left to go on a hiking trail. It turned out that the day was not getting any warmer. Linda shivered. Then it started to pour. She was in the middle of the woods and couldn't see the trail. She decided that she would wait for someone to pass by. Luckily someone came by and put a blanket around her and brought Linda to his car. She asked him for his name and number after she said thank you. She was truly in love. She did not know it but he was also in love. After that they called each other everyday and would schedule secret walks as often as they could.

" I have something very important to tell you two. You may not say a word of this to anybody else. Promise?" said Linda. Both Mallory and Maggie answered in their most grown up voice, "yes."

"Okay then." answered Linda. " I'll let you skip your chores today and instead help me pick out my wedding dress in town." What do you think about that?" Hesitantly Maggie asked, " Do Mommy and Daddy know about your wedding and that we are going in town?" " Oh, if want to stay home and do chores instead it's okay with me." Mallory retorted. " Don't worry Maggie they already know. So, shall we get in the car?" said Linda. "Yes siriee!" Exclaimed Maggie and Mallory at the same time, giving each other awkward glances.

In town Linda, Maggie and Mallory went to the Designer Store. Linda and Maggie saw the most beautiful dresses they had seen in their lives. Mallory on the other hand only liked one of the many dresses there and was disgusted by all the other ones. The dress she did like was located at the far end of the fourth aisle. It was a open shoulder dress with lace sleeves, a floral top in the colors of blue, lavender, and baby pink, a white satin skirt that went all the way down to Linda's ankles. Her favorite parts about it were the floral top and the fact that it didn't drag on the floor.

Mallory had bumped into Margaret, her best friend on the way to check the price of the dress. They had many adventures together. "What in the world are you doing here?" asked Mallory. " Oh, I was just coming in town to get some stuff at the pharmacy with Gram. Then I saw your car and asked if I could go in the Designer Store to find you." said Margaret excitedly. "Why are you here?" "I can't tell you." Mallory confessed. "WHAT?!" said Margaret flabbergasted. "I thought you vowed that you would never ever keep a secret from me!" Sure, enough five years ago Mallory had vowed to not keep secrets from Margaret. "Oh, I am so sorry Mar, but I also promised Linda I would keep this secret for her." Mar was a nickname Mallory had given Margaret when they had met. Mallory had her own nickname that Margaret gave her, Al. Nobody called her Al, but Margaret.

"I'll go and ask Linda if I can tell you." said Mallory "You better." retorted Margaret. So, Mallory found Linda who at that moment was looking at the price tag of a bouquet of fake roses. When she saw Mallory she asked " What do you think of these flowers Mallory? Oh, and I found a dress I might want to wear that is affordable. I wanted to get your opinion about it. " I think that those flowers look to fake, and I also found a dress that you may like. " said Mallory " Oh really." answered Linda. " And one more thing, " Mallory paused " can I tell Margaret about the wedding" " Well I was going to ask you and Maggie to pick one friend that you would like to bring along, so yes. But if a rumor starts up than... " Mallory cut her of " Thank you sooo much. " She was relieved.

Mallory went to Margaret and said " Are you ready to hear the secret? " Mallory didn't wait for a reply. " Okay. I will start from the very beginning. Me and Maggie were making pancakes and we saw that 7 eggs still weren't used so we decided to have a food fight. Then as you probably expected we made a mess. Linda came in a couple minutes later and made us clean the mess. Afterwards when we were cleaning, I noticed that Linda had a ring on her finger, so after a while asked her if she was engaged with somebody and guess what she said, yes! Which means they are going to have a wedding!" "A WEDDING!!!" Margaret almost yelled. "Yup" replied Mallory. "and you are invited! If I must be honest, I am not very excited because than I have to wear a" "dress" said both of the girls together. Though Mallory and Margaret sometimes acted like girly girls the true Mallory and Margaret were well... tom-boyish, messy, troublesome, adventuress, and a billion of other things.

"Margaret" called a voice in the designer store. '' We need to go to the pharmacy now.'' Mallory recognized that voice it was Margaret's grandmother. " Hey Grandma, can I attend Linda's wedding. "asked Margaret. "Wedding. Hmm." said her grandmother. "Sure. When is it?" "It is on May third." Mallory replied

After an awkward hug with Gram her best friend left. Linda came up to her and asked, " Would you like to show me the dress you liked?" Sure. It is on the end of the fourth isle. I havent checked the price tag, yet.

When Linda saw the dress, she awed at the flower headband with a veil attached. She loved it. Mallory was glad. After a couple moments Linda said," We have a dress!" she exclaimed. Maggie came around the corner and asked, Which one is it? I am debating on whether I will wear this one she said pointing to the one Mallory had picked, or this one, pointing to the other dress. Maggie, I will make up for all the times a missed playing dress-up with you today.

Linda and Maggie went into the white fitting room and tried on some dresses. After some long moments they came out. "Mallory I picked the dress that you showed me. Are you excited to plan out the rest of the wedding?" asked Linda. "Yup!" Mallory said excitedly.

Sorry I had to rush the ending a little bit.
