Companion Demon

Chapter 4- Olympe

Loukina would get up several times a night to go drink water and each time it woke me up too. I opened my eyes in the dark and waited to hear her return to her room before closing them again and waited for sleep to return.

When morning came and we were completely awake Loukina entered my room and sat down on the edge of my bed to tell me her dream. As for me, I just stared at her in silence, curious about what she was going to tell me.

"I had several short dreams this time and most of them are very vague. I remember you were in it.

-Me? I asked with a proud little smile. "

Loukina smiled.

"Yes you. It is the same dream that has come back several times already. You were with the same person. I couldn't see his face. He was just a huge, dark, awesome mass. But I feel it was that person. "

I nodded.

"Surely a demon. Did you see me kill him? "

She shook her head.

"Not at all. You were just looking at each other. "

I was huffing.

"You never see me kill him. I don't understand. Yet my job is to protect Earth from demons by killing them. Why would I leave this one alive? He looks pretty terrifying. "

Loukina shrugged her shoulders.

"I don't know. Maybe he's a very powerful or kind demon. "

I laughed.

"No demon is nice, Loukina."

My friend smiled kindly.

"We all have dark sides, Olympe. Some more than others. But without light there is no shadow either.

- Yeah. So far I haven't met any kind demons.

-And the salespeople in the store? You never killed them and they help you with your illness. "

I shrug my shoulders.

"They are different. They are useful to society. Demons like that are apart.

-So there are indeed nice demons.

- I said useful not nice. Be careful. I know you would be able to befriend a demon. You shouldn't trust them.

-I know, don't worry about me. It's you that I worry about the most. "

I smiled amused.

"Me? You know me you don't need to worry about me.

-I know you know how to fight really well and all but you remain human and they are demons. Take care of yourself. "

I took her hand in mine.

"I'll be careful don't worry.

-I'm not talking only about demons. What's up with your family? "

I froze.

"No news.

-Really? But it's almost Christmas. "

I shrug my shoulders.

"I am not generally welcome. They are not going to make an exception for the holidays. "

Loukina forced herself to smile.

"That's even better. That way you can come and celebrate Christmas with my family. They love you you know that. You're not going to disturb we will all be happy. "
